  5. I am trying to decide on how to buy my new 6S since my AT&T contract is up for renewal now. $200 w/2 year contract or lease for 2 years Sticking with the 6s, not the plus. I am not ready for the larger size of the plus.
  6. Depends on what you expect out of a track day! I would much rather spend a day on the track on Pilot Road III's than not get on the track at all! There are a few of us that have ridden JenningsGP track on PR3's - ride the Bird to the track, tape up lights, do over 150 miles on the track, remove tape, ride the Bird home all on Pilot Road III's. Not competitive with the dedicated track bikes but still brings a smile from ear to ear at the end of the day. There has only been one "off" while riding a Bird at JenningsGP but was missing a foot! That is another whole story! JenningsGP.JPG Jennings is a bit of a special case when it comes to tracks- the grip there is insane and it's not all torn to shit by cars. Not that you couldn't do a trackday elsewhere on PR3's, but you'd probably find yourself dialing it back a notch or two. You are absolutely spot on there Tim! Even dialed back I would still rather spend a day at the track on PR3's than not get on the track at all! Even with the insane grip at Jenningsgp many of us have found a way to lose it !

  8. I have a set off a 2000 for $10.00 plus shipping $3 at the scrap yard for the aluminum!! which is where mine will probably end up
  9. Took a break and got it figured out. The new R/R is in and routed properly :-) Now to get all the electric's back in place and I will be ready to ride again.
  10. 404. That’s an error. The requested URL was not found on this server. That’s all we know. I read AC voltage on all 3 legs of the Stator I got in excess of 75vac on each of the 3 legs with RPM Stator is putting out great AC voltage The R/R is just not giving me 14+ vdc for charging.
  11. So my regulator rectifier has gone south at 65,000 miles. Bought a new OEM replacement (I know Ricks is cheaper and better) I am having a hard time getting the needed room to remove the 2 connectors at the end of the pigtail through the subframe. Very tight fit between the battery box and the subframe. I got one of them through but the second (larger) one would not fit through so I cut the connector off in frustration since it was bad anyway. Now to get the new one routed in properly looks impossible without removing the battery box which is not something I want to do given the fuses, relays and wiring that is in the way. I am looking at routing the pigtail on the other side of the frame to avoid all the hassle of the battery box? thoughts? Your advice is much appreciated at this stopping point? I forgot to add that it is a 2001 with the 24 inch pigtail on the R/R Routes from the right rear side forward, then under the subframe and across to the left side, then up on the inside of the subframe.
  12. Wonder what the large ring is on the tank filler ?
  13. I have a couple of good throttle cables off my 2000 parts bike
  14. Honda calls for their GN4 10W40 engine oil which is a good choice for Tennessee. Here in South Florida where it never gets cold year round we often go to 20W50 due to the constant higher temps Honda oil here sells for $5.99 a quart so not a bad cost although many brands of 10W40 oil can be had for less money. Just buy motorcycle specific motor oil.
  15. You can not touch the ground on a KLR! You will have a pair of Bird wheels delivered to your door on Thursday according to the tracking info from USPS. Joey needs some wheels I guess. And drag his butt down to RacerXX next year, will ya?
  16. I agree with what has been suggested - something is shorting out and applying a big load intermittantly I just had a similar thing happen to me at the end of a 100 mile run on my way home when I stopped for fuel. After starting the bike and riding off as usual, it started to stutter and I lost my low beam HID. As I was approaching a red traffic light, I switched on the high beam HID. The bike then shut off completely and I coasted to a stop at a gas station. My volt meter showed 3.8 volts reading right off the battery. Key on, no dash lights at all. Turned out the HID ballast was the problem. Replaced the HID set up and recharged the battery - sorted. Hope yours is as easy to fix as mine was.
  17. Your chart readings and your actual voltage readings are very similar. At idle if your are getting 14.2vdc, it is slightly higher than the norm. At most any RPM above 2500 you should see a steady voltage of between 13.4 and 14.6 to maintain the operating load of the bike and at the same time recharge the battery back up to 12.8 - 13.2vdc.
  18. The voltage does not drop as the battery charges. The amperage drops as the battery charges up. The no load voltage of a fully charged battery is about 13VDC. For charging it the charging-system should provide a voltage of about 14.4 VDC and this should be a constant voltage at all engine speeds with the exception of idle speeds being lower.
  19. Look like very good numbers all the way around
  20. Take a look at the DDM projector retrofits http://www.ddmtuning.com/Product-Categories/Projectors-and-Shrouds/Projectors
