Well dammit. Wrong part number for the 2012.
-
That was a nice ride. Hell, riding that bike is what got me to buy my current VFR, though it doesn't see much action anymore. Especially since the Triumphs have taken over. But every once in awhile i get the urge to flog it through the backwoods.

Putting this up in a few places, but I would personally love it if this would go to someone here...
2003 VFR800 Interceptor non ABS. 30k miles. Factory hard bags and top box. New PR3 rear tire. Front is starting to cup and will need replacement relatively soon.
Mods list...
Sargent seat.Puig windscreenSato adjustable rearsets.ThrottlemeisterCNR shorty leversBraided steel brake and clutch lines.EBC HH Brake padsGalfer wave rotors.Power Commander 5 with Autotune module.Stock forks rebuilt with racetech gold compression and rebound valves.Racetech .95 kg fork springsOhlins 46HRCLS shock.
Is it perfect? No. It's been down and repaired. The paint is scratched here and there, and as usual with my bikes, it's not as anally clean as some keep theirs. However it is mechanically as perfect as I can get it.
Asking $4500 here. More on other sites.
Pics for those who don't know the bike...

You sure? Got a 'priller trackbike...

Just updated the firmware on both units, but no Scala to try to link to.

And the timing really sucks. I'll be looking to buy a lightweight supersport in a few months, but I can't do it just yet. :icon_wall:
Looking to add another bike to your stable, Dutch?
Or, will you be selling the VFR?
The VFR isn't going anywhere. It's the perfect balance of comfort and performance for the type of riding that we do. Especially with all of the suspension upgrades. No, I'm looking for something lightweight that can to do track and street duty.

So it turns out that the adjusters and internals on the f4 forks are a direct replacement for the non-adjustable VFR forks. I found a couple of sets on ebay, but I hate doing the ebay dance. If anyone's got some they're looking to unload I'll take them off your hands.

Damn the timing sucks. I'd be all over that if I could.

My 03 was shimmed 6mm and otherwise stock. The handling was noticeably better. Turn in felt closer to my old R1 than my original 97 XX. It did lean a little heavily on the sidestand but never enough to worry me. When it was up on the centerstand all I did was lift it onto a 1/8" piece of plywood so the rear tire would clear enough to rotate.

(hey, at least I have a sense of humor about it...)
Good thing I'm an ass man eh?

And how little do you know... That picture was taken by me when I owned it. Ha!!!

Damn. I wish I had the cash available. I'd buy it back in a heartbeat Gene.

The oddest thing happened. I turned around after five minutes or so. I came out of 1st respectfully. I applied moderate throttle (read got on it going into second) and then suddenly the road in front of me was gone! I was straight up 12 o'clock. I forgot for a minute the size, weight of the beast and had to get her down.
I warned you, I warned you, I warned you. Didn't I warn you?
So were you giggling like a little kid when you cleaned out your pants?
-
Thanks. You're coming to help move right? Ok, didn't think so.
-
If we get the house that we're looking at the move will probably be at the end of January. Nothing like baptism by fire, I mean ice, for Angee and the kids... Nexxt bike will be arriving by springtime. That'll give me time to save and decide what I want.
-
She's gone. Take good care of her Gene...
-
Congrats to both ya'll.
So I see you're picking up the southernisms pretty quick there Illinois-boy...
Dutch... did you clean it for him?Nope. Don't need to. Gene knows me and knows my bikes. Besides, it hasn't gotten dirty since my last clean up. Not much time to ride right now.

Please, please, please tell me that our fellow red-headed friend doesn't want the Bird!!! I WANT THE BIRD!
Haven't heard yet. He's got until tomorrow. After that it's all yours.
And welcome to the asylum Gene. Pull up a chair and hang out awhile. This is a good group of people.

Ummm. Nope. That goes beyond the definition of sharing. I think I'll keep those all to myself.
