  1. Interesting...I have switched to the 16T non-dampener sprocket and with 15k miles I really haven't noted much difference. I love the additional acceleration.

FYI...I have at least 20k on sprockets with a dampener.

Maybe different bikes noise levels are impacted different ways (dif chains, etc).

Mines a daily rider....came to work today and it was 21 degrees...FUN!

  2. I run one tooth smaller on the countershaft. It makes a big difference in acceleration. Your mileage will drop around 5% all other factors being the same... its worth it to me...but its a personal call.

  3. How many of you are running the speedo healer?

I was running 10% too high on mileage (and speed) until I put the speedo healer on.

My mileage is now accurate...and unfortunately isn't as good as before I had the Speedo Healer...

  4. I run the heated gloves all winter. If I berak down and go with the vest I would be sure to add a voltage gauge to make sure I can monitor my charging system. Perform a 'search' in this forum and you will find many affordable options for a gauge...

  5. I will chime in here...you should be OK with the brake cleaner.

FYI ...I usually only have to use brake cleaner on my Jeeps.

On the bird & dirt bikes I usually just wipe off any brake dust with a clean cloth.

  6. Maybe the 4sale sign is the answer.

There are a HUGE number of busa's , GSXR's, even soms CBXX's, etc. for sale with lowered suspensions and 12" extended swingarms.

It destroys the way they handle and looks really bad (to me).

Is it that hard to keep the front end down?

What are your thoughts on the great number of these bikes?

  7. You should be fine...definitely do NOT have it started unless it gets to operating temperature for around 10-15 minutes. Moisture causes problems ( as stated above) unless full operating temp is reached...

  8. Be sure to spray the drain bolt with WD40 and let it sit for a day or two. It will come right out...but be patient.

I usually let the fork leg hang from a rafter in the garage (upside down) for a day to allow all old oil to drain from the fork leg.

If you do a search in this form this was actually covered about 6 mos. ago....
