  1. Sorry, I missed the Lunges comment.

Another good workout is Bosu-Ball squats.  Though I work out in a gym I bought a Bosu-Ball for additional home workouts.

The exercise not only works the legs but it strengthens the core and the back. I finish my leg workouts with 4-5 sets. By then your body is so fatigued you don't need anything more than your own body weight.

In this study, researchers recommended an unstable surface, such as the BOSU ball for rehabilitation of lower back pain conditions. This no-load balance training improves the strength and conditioning of your lower back muscles, important in your ability to perform everyday movements.

These exercises may also help you prevent lower back pain by improving strength and balance even if you have not suffered an injury.

  2. Try lunges, both forward and back. Lunges work the same muscles as squats.

A forward lunge targets the abdominal muscles (transverse abdominus and obliques), the glutes (gluteus maximus, gluteus medius/minimus), the anterior thigh muscles (quadriceps) and the posterior thigh muscles (hamstrings). According to Healthy Living, it also works the calf muscles.

  3. Tim thank you very much for the offer.

I spent about an hour cleaning all the components of the pump assembly and it cleaned up quite well.

I checked to make sure the pump worked and then reassembled everything.

I had previously emptied all the gas from the tank so I put fresh fuel in it and it fired right up, coughed and sputtered a bit at first and now its running smooth.

Thanks for all the guidance and advice.

Another couple of hour project that I turned into a 3 days worth of work. :)

  4. What is the best way to clean that stuff off those components? Any particular chemical I should use?

Is there a way to clean the inside of the tank?

We always try to use Chevron 91 octane in our bikes.

  5. I just took the pump assembly out and this is what I see in the bottom. What is all what appears to be twisted wire coil in the bottom?

As you can see there is a lot of corrosion/crap in the housing.

  6.

I've got power to the fuel pump connector so it looks like its the pump.

Thank you all for your responses and thank you Joe for your guidance on this. You sure made it simple for me.

  7. When I try to start Jackie's 2001 XX the fuel pump does not engage. When I hit the start button the engine cranks but does not start. I do not hear the fuel pump engage when I first turn on the ignition.

The PGM-FI light comes on as do all the other dash lights when I first turn on the ignition but then it turns back off, the only lights that remain illuminated are the oil light and the neutral light.

In the service manual there are a number of scenarios all tied to how many times the PGM-FI light blinks. As I stated earlier, the light comes on when the key is turned on, as do all other dash lights and then it goes off, as do many of the other dash lights.

Any suggestions as to where to go from here?

  8. After 3 weeks of using a pre-workout supplement I was able to bench press 230 lbs 3 times.

I also started taking Mr Hyde.

Yeah, Fuck me that stuff is potent!!!!

I too had to cut back on the dosage.

  9. I'm maintaining 185, was down to 182.

For quite a while I would have a veggie omelette for breakfast, apple at around 9:00 am and workout at 11;00 am. Didn't have a lot of energy for the workout. Followed it with a protein shake.

The past week I've had a protein bar about 30 minutes before workout as well as an energy drink. Holy Moly!! What a difference in my workouts. The weights went up drastically in just a week. I am still working out 4-5 days a week.

  10. Jackie's 2002 2001 XX has been sitting for about 2 months now without running.

I put the battery back in it today to take it out for a ride and it cranks but won't start. Usually when I turn the key on I hear an electric motor (fuel pump?) for a few seconds but now there is no electric motor noise.

Any ideas? Everything seems to be working, and it cranks over very well, it is either gettign no spark or no fuel and I am guessing no fuel.

  11. I bought LED turn signals for about $25 and replaced the flasher with one I bought from clear alternatives for under $20. They are very bright

I also replaced the tail light with a Clear Alternative tail light with integrated turn signals.

On my other XX with the Mototek Undertail I bought a license plate bracket with LED strips on either side that are wired as turn signals. I don't recall where I got that.

  12. My 97XX has been sitting for about 2 months without being started/ridden. I started it this afternoon to ride it and it seemed like it was running on 3 cylinders. Took it for a couple mile ride. At higher RPMs it seemed to run ok, but at low RPM's it ran like 2-3 cylinders weren't firing.

Any ideas? Should I add seafoam? Is it too late for Sta-bil. Would that even do any good?

I'm assuming its a carb issue.

I think this was discussed a few months ago but I couldn't find the thread.

  13. How often should you change the brake fluid or front fork fluid?

I just had it done to my 1997 XX in Arizona and that bike has 26,000 miles on it.

My 1997XX Alaska bike has 24,000 miles on it and I its been at least 4 years since I did the brake fluid, maybe six since I did the forks. I'm not sure about the clutch fluid.

The brake and clutch fluid look pretty clear.

What's the driving force, time or miles?

  14. What is the advantage of going from the stock JT 17T front sprocket to a JT 18T front sprocket? Is it something i should consider?

Seeing as I am going to replace the chain and sprockets I thought I might consider the change.

Have any of you guys done it?

How does it affect performance and gas mileage?

Should I leave well enough alone?

    Thanks for the help.
