  4. Dayam you DALE!!!!!!!!!! I want a piece of this BUT it is 'spensive. Anyway to "Dave" em down farther on pricing? Also for logistics for people sending in forks (that actually makes more sense not having to f' with it) could we do appointments? IE I send my forks in like the third week of May, allows for lesser backlog on their end and more time for cash on mine? Just asking cause DADDY likes!!!!! Thank you Kinley
  5. Would this have to be something where the forks were sent in? Looks like a "drop and go" type thing (yes I realize that is over simpifying it). Kinley
  6. UM hell ya GB!!!!!! HOW much tho?!!!!! I have some Hyperpro springs a comin'. That looks just tits!!! Kinley
  7. Yes this is utter shyte, cause he has some very cool stuff there. Dont quote me cause I am not even for sure but I think something took place, either a family matter or a biking matter where the gent who owns this place had to refocus his efforts on personal stuff. I think others on this site are more educated than I, but I do remember seeing something to that affect. I too was very bummed to see it up for sale
  8. I need some help getting some scratches out of the clear coat on the bird. I had a lower cowl repainted/cleared two months ago. When they did it they got build up along the edge of the cowl. I came back with 1000 grit and took the edging down and cleaned some of the trash out of the clear (wet/color sanded it). That left swirls and light scratches in the coat. Here is what I did next: Used Meguires Scratch X Used Mothers Billet polish -tip from the forum Used Novus scratch remover product Used Meguires Paint cleaner light scratch remover Used Meguires Polish Used Meguires Caruba wax Looks shiney and pretty but still swirly. I know just enough about clear and paints to know I didnt cut that deep into the clear to worry. What I want to achieve is the look of the rest of the cowl that the painters did with the buffer minus the buffer. I have thought about getting the PC7424 but I dont know how to run a buffer so am hesitant and it is a small area, vertical strip on cowl by the engine. Thoughts suggestions, help? Thank you Kinley
  9. Dayam it Porter no broke back mountain lovin!!!!!!! fucko Oh well....have it your way. Offer still stands....your safe, my wife will be there Didnt mention a threesome, nasty man!!!!!!!!!
  10. @ Barton-no it is a decided flat spot and not a "cutting the fuck out" so I think that part is ok. @ Porter-I will give what you suggested a look see and once I get the kit will plan a run down to Houston if the offer is open. Thank you kinley Offer is open....come on down...even have a spare room for overnight....been a looooong time since we had cumpny....if you know what I mean Dayam it Porter no broke back mountain lovin!!!!!!! fucko

  12. Yes it seems to have a very decided "flat spot' ~ 5K till about ~65Kish. Hence also adding to my suspicions of it not having a jet kit in it. Kinley
  13. Since I have gotten my 97 bird I have noticed the after smell of gas when I put her to bed when finished riding. I did a search and thought it may be the plugs. So I changed out the plugs. In doing so I noticed nothing out of the ordinary on the plugs themselves. Also checked the breather lines (?) and they are clear and not kinked. Only other thing I think it could be is the fact I have a Yosh RS-3 full exhaust on the bike 4-2-1. Came with the bike and I am assuming it was not jetted when the exhaust was added. I notice that when I choke the bike in cooler weather is idles up rough (way rich) and has the heavy gas smell. Would I benefit from a Factory pro kit and if so how hard is it to install myself? I think I could do it BUT the little part and shit make me nervous as well as jacking around with my bike's fuel system. Thoughts? Thank you Kinley
  14. :iloveyou: Yes herb, that helps a hell of a lot. Also answers my questions as to what you had drilled and peened in your previous post. NOW this makes sense!!!! Irks me tho, I would think the DK guy would have known this, sigh maybe it was a busy day the phones did seem to be ringing off the hook. Will try again. Thank you again Kinley
  15. Ok HerbXX, unless I am a complete fucktard (this has been proven to be the case before) the 97/98 dont have cartridges or shim stacks. I am basing this on the hard copy of the 97/98 Honda service manual that I am looking at. I see springs and damper rods but no valving or shims. Thanks now you just confused the fuck outta me!!!!!!!! Help. Kinley
  16. I called Dan Kyle and spoke to a Joey. According to him (resident Ohliens expert) DK cant do anything for the bird forks since they are damper style. Cartridge style they could. Raises the question that what did those of you who had yours done actually get done??? Kinley
  17. Here is what I would like to know and yes I have done a search so I have some background on this. Shadetree mechanic who hates stealerships. Want to upgrade the stock forks on my 97 bird. Have the online manual and the hard copy manual. Undecided between the Hyperpro or the Racetech packages, both seem to have excellent write ups. Weigh in fully geared at about 225lbs. Varied riding style from spirited to slab. Question is how hard is this going to be for ME to do (I am worried about the shim stack I have heard mention of). Option of sending off to DK but I would rather do myself. Do I need complete overhaul; springs, valves seal, or? The manual seems to show the forks not being all that complex but I also dont want to get the bird disassembled and realized I am hosed. Also please keep responses to the mechanical aspect of this and not the pros and cons of the various manufactures unless it specifically relates to mechanics-other threads have hashed this out prior. Thank you much Kinley
  18. Hey I am wanting to continue with the all black theme on my bird. I want to black out the fairing bolts, instead of buying the kits that are out there does anyone have a fairly inexpensive suggestion. Say gun blueing? Thanks Kinley
  19. Yes when I added gas the needle on the gauge went fo F and the fuel light went off. So looks like I am good to go, thank you for confirming the stuck float. And I am drinking!!!!!!!!! Kinley
  20. OK smartass' I know adding gas would make the gauge go up I guess my real question was could there be something wrong with my gauge? I did addd gass on the way home and it did go up. I am just curious why the gauge would get stuck at 1/4 a tank when the fuel level is lower than that? Thanks Kinley
  21. Question-Just had the bike apart (tank off) to change the plugs and install a Pair valve kit. Ran the fuel in tank pretty low. Reinstalled everything and when the bike is running fuel gauge shows 1/4 of a tank. Rode to work and the low fuel light came on. Do I have an issue or do I just need to fill the tank up thereby allowing the float arm to come unstuck? Thank you Kinley
  22. Hey I want to get a dark windscreen for my 97. I was going to try dying my stocker but, decided against it. I like the look of the PUIG DB and the F.Fabbri DB. Any thoughts on the two AND what is this "bubbling of instrument cluster "I have heard mention of? Thanks Kinley
  23. Absolutely it can be removed. Swing arm staysin place and the sprocket cover does not even need to come off. Just undo the screws and slide it out. It worked on my 97. Kinley
