Damn, gotta sell my love. My old lady can't help but punish me every time I go for a ride without her, so I am unfortunately getting rid of the bird.
Seriously, if she is forcing you to give up something you love to do. If she doesn't want to participate that is her choice, but I would not give up a ride for a nagging wife. Let her know you would like to have her ride along, and if she doesn't she can be supportive or at least silent about something you enjoy and makes you a better man at home.

Shinko 009's incredible mileage, stick ok, very predictable. Want to try the Shinko 005's next - a little more grippy tire. Surpringly great value for the money.

Well, I rode them back to back and the decision is in. There is no comparison; I guess I can keep wearing my new BB jacket
Thought that might be the case, that was my experience also with the FZ1. The guy I sold my fizzer to loves it, but he's never flown with a bird either. I have been checking out convertibars but they are a little expensive, the genmar plus the vfr bars might be interesting, let me know how you like it if you go that route.

Since I'm just getting a bunch of tire kickers on my 97', I'm going to start selling off a few items.
I had these repainted last year with a couple extra coats of clear coat shot on them for durability. Not perfect but very nice. No fiberglass cracks, interior carpet in good shape.

I have located an FZ1 in the color scheme I have always liked and may simply buy it and do a side by side comparison on the two and sell the less comfy bike.
I formerly owned a 1st gen FZ1. It was a great bike, extremely upright seating position, almost like being perched on top of a motocross bike. Compared to the bird it is very 'buzzy,' makes good power up high, and is very clunky when shifting gears. Check the FZ1OA http://www.yamahafz1oa.com/ for information - it is a great bike, but just no comparison to a Blackbird. I would strongly recommend keeping the bird - get the VFR bars and lower the pegs for a better seating position.

I've had my stock pipes sitting in the garage forever, they were taken off and put on the shelf at 4,400 miles off my 02. Never been down, excellent condition, etc. Reasonable offer plus shipping and they are yours, I have a box and packaging ready to go to your house.

Did the same thing to my '02. Cheapest price I could find was CarolinaCycle.com, for $250 plus shipping.
The only thing you won't receive with the new fairing will be the inner black plastic cosmetic piece which attaches with 3 press-clips. Just take all the piece & clips off your old fairing & transplant them to the new one.
