  1. I like Fieldsheer products too. And like the others, I get mine from newenough.com

    light bulb

What's the automotive store equivalent for the front turn signal bulb?
  3. Ditto! Spray it on, let it sit over night. It's ULTRA sticky and will dry on in one day.. (won't fly off) TJ  Yes, you gotta let that stuff sit overnight. I used it ONCE. While out on a ride, I sprayed it on when I stopped for lunch. It sat for 15 minutes. During my next stop, I realized it had sprayed crap everywhere! I returned that can of PJ-1 Blue and picked up a trusty can of Maxima. I'm currently using something from Motorex. Great product. I'd rate it up there with Maxima.
  4. Depends on which sprocket you spin it onto first. Going from front to back is 110 links. And going from back to front, well then it's 110 links. I'd say, if you got 110 links, you should be in luck.

    Bird Temp

Engine Ice is a little more expensive, but has cold weather tolerance. I believe their link is www.cyclelogic.cc.
  6. Yep. When I go to the store, I'll check the new bottles. The one I checked was from a year ago. The bird takes 4.1 quarts. So, I buy 4 quarts and use a tenth of a quart from the same bottle I've had for about a year now.
  7. It's not?! :headscratch: Are you sure? I just changed my oil with 15w50 and on the bottle in the bottom part of the circle, it doesn't say "energy conserving."
  8. I hear the Amsoil filters and oils are pretty good. Can't remember the source though. But! For $6.50 a quart, I'd be getting my oil someplace else! I buy the Mobil1 15w50 for $3.85 at Target. Lots of others get the Rotella too. Amsoil is good, but not worth costing nearly twice as much. http://www.ducatimeccanica.com/oil.html
  9. I do 38/40. Not that I know what I'm doing. I'm just going by opinions of others from experience.
  10. I don't recall the numbers for the RX7 filter. Carlos? The one for K&N is KN-303. I couldn't find it at any of the local auto dealers. Perhaps, they can special order one? I finally found the K&Ns at a local bike shop. I believe I paid $11.99.

    Jetting

I like mileage! And I like power. I want a balance of the two. If I get a 5hp increase with a 12 mpg drop, I'd rather not have the 5 extra horses. My bike runs just fine on the stock HP. Now, if I were to have that same 5hp, but with only a 3mpg drop, then I wouldn't mind the tradeoff.
  12. For a couple bucks, I'm sure somebody would send you a "backup" copy of that.

    Jetting

Is this something that I can install myself just by following the instructions? Or, should I just pay to have it installed and tuned? I've spoken to four shops: 1) dragracing shop says $290 for installation and dynotuning. supposedly good at what they do. both mechanics are dragracers. 2) another dragracing shop says $300 for installation and dynotuning. again, good at what they do, but mostly work on suzukis. also hear they may not be the best bet because they mainly tune for max power, not smoothness of the powerband. 3) Hondashop says $325 for installation and dynotuning. the wrenches there are also racers when they're not working. plus, they're very experienced with hondas. 4) performance shop says $300 for installation and tuning by feel. supposedly this guy is also good at what he does. also claims about 1000 jetkit installations. What would YOU do? (owners of '99s and newer need not reply if they're just gonna brag about having FI  )
  14. I just changed mine last weekend. Used the M1 15w50 again. That was 933 miles ago! Wow, did I really put on that many miles in a week?! At this rate, I'm gonna need another oil change before the Cody meet!
  15. It comes on when the light comes on.
  16. Perhaps what you need is an exorcist? Just kidding. Most likely, it's just corrosion in your switches? I need to take mine apart and clean them out. Then apply dielectric grease to them to keep them from corroding again. My highbeam doesn't always want to come on right away. There almost always is a one to five second delay until it comes on. I've just been so unmotivated to do the job.
  17. I found Target to be the cheapest. $3.85 per quart for Mobil1 15W50. Wish my Guiness only cost that little. :drinkbeer:
  18. Isn't the stock fluid SS8? And isn't that 10W? I just changed the fluids in my forks last night. I used the stock weight and the stock height.

    Chain Breaker

Not yet. Next chain, I will.

    Chain Breaker

HAHA!! Yeah, I've got one of those at work. Perhaps, next time I'll 'borrow' it to do the job. Hell, last time, I 'borrowed' the file to grind down the pins! Yes, I use the old chain to route the new chain also.

    Chain Breaker

Dude, cutting wheel?? If I don't have a dremmel, then I definitely don't have a cutting wheel. And that's why I use a file. Besides, I don't file it completely off. Just enough so that when I use the MotionPro tool, I don't run the risk of breaking the pins. Works like a charm. I really do need to buy a dremmel. I could use it for everything! Cutting my chain, mods on my bike, simple chores around the house, slicing vegetables for a salad...

    Chain Breaker

I didn't have a dremmel, so I used a file and grinded them down pretty good. Then, the breaker made through that chain like butter.
  23. I guess that's just the server they're using. It's bandits@topica.com .
  24. Were you on the Bandit list at Topica? Welcome to the XX board! BTW- NICE upgrade... Nothing wrong with the Bandit, though. I just like the XX much better!

    Chain Breaker

    I use the Motion Pro breaker/riveter tool. It's around $80 at jcwhitney.com .
