  1. Also check to see that the vent and overflow hoses are not reversed at the radiator neck. Mine came back from a dealer service like that and it took me awhile to figure it out.

  2. If you have not done so already, replace the spark plugs and the wires because they do break down over time. Also make sure the intake hose is fully seated at both ends.

    Give the fuel injectors a good flush clean along with the intake and Trottle body.

  3. When you get ready to restart your Bird, you should remove the fuses for the lights.

    Then once you have it running on just the ign. current, check your battery voltage

    to see if it is higher than just 12.5 v

    It should be more like 13.5 v plus. If not you might have a lack of charging voltage.

    Should that be the case you may have regulator/rectifier problem.

    If charging OK, just keep the batt charged.

  4. Absolutely do all of the above recomended items. 50,000 miles is quite a lot of wear and tear.

    Even though the bike still seems ok, you must do all the maintenance or you could be looking

    at a nasty failure of some part, possibly at a very bad time in a remote place!!
