  1. Low on the quality scale??? How do you figure that?? I've got a full system TBR on my Vmax with a C-4 Carbon Fiber cannister, a low mount TBR C-4 slip-on on my VFR and a TBR Ti C-2 dual slip on on my XX. Quality is excellent. I prefer the cast inlet/outlet vs the sheet metal/tig weld that looks cobbled together. Guess evryone has a different opinion of quality. 132,000 on the Vmax...........no problems. 163,000 on the VFR..........no problems. 45,000 on the XX..........no problems.
  2. Try "Forking by Frank". Frank's Maintenance & Engineering (847-475-1003) www.frankmain.qpg.com There products are awesome, identical to OEM at half the cost.
  3. Also make sure the pocket that the seal is pressed into is clean and has no corrosion. Just to make sure, give the outside of the seal a thin coat of permatex #2 (non-hardening). I've had oil leaak in this area if it's not right. Looks just like it leaks from between the seal and fork tube.
  4. Try a set of EBC-HH pads. I had the same problem with the stock pads and it went away with the EBC's.
  5. Unless someone absolutly beats the crap out of the XX, it should last 200,000 miles plus. With normal oil/filter change of course. I have a 99 VFR with 263,000 miles on it and a 97 Vmax with 132,000 miles and both run like new. My newly aquired 99 XX is the "baby" of the bunch with only 43,000.
  6. Hook it directly to the battery. I've had the Aerostich for a few years and no problems.
  7. There is no spec for changing the fuel filter on a FI bird. There is a flow test outlined in the manual. You don't actually sync the throttle bodies, but the starter valves. They seem to hold sync well. My 99 VFR (same type of PGMFI) went 160,000 miles before I changed the filter. I felt guilty and just did it. Never synced the starter valves and still idles and runs great.
  8. Go with the riveted master link. I wouldn't use a clip type retainer on anything over 250 cc.
