  1. Okay, I looked at those. they say "re-valved", but they don't say with what.

My forks only have 7500 miles on them and I've changed the fluid at about 5k.

I think I'll try to find a local guy to re-do the stock valves unless he talks me in to getting some gold valves or penskes or something.

    Maybe change the spring also.

I would like to keep total cost around $350 if I can.

  2. Alright, I am going to change my fork oil and I see that you have to check the level after filling.

Can't you just add a certain amount?

Say the 16.3 ounces that is called for, and call it a day?

Why is it so important to measure the level as opposed to just adding a preset amount?

  3. I ran Sonic Springs on my VFR and the springs I bought from them and put in my VFR800 were way too stiff.

I used the ones they recommended on their chart according to my weight and riding style but they make the stock BBXX springs feel downright plush.

I will say their customer service was terrific.

I would like to hear from those of you running them on a BlackBird and get your impressions?

Your weight, riding style, spring weight, and oil viscosity.

    Thanks

  4. 42 just seems high. I've owned about twenty five bikes and not a one had a recommended psi that high.

I usually run 32-34 front and 34-36 rear on most of my bikes.

Even my BMW R1200RT which is heavier than the BBXX only recommended 36-38 fully loaded.

Currently I'm running 34 front and 36 rear.

I will bump it up 2psi when taking a passenger.

Anything else just exaggerates the already stiff ride qualities of the bike.

remember too that in spite of Honda's recommendations, tires vary from brand to brand and model to model.
