  1. I replaced mine on my ST1100 (I know it's not our Blackbird) but you may want to give CBR bearing Co a shot. I have found them to be very good to work with, knowledgeable, and gave great advice on installing. They are at www.cbrbearing.com The prices were very reasonable too... Steve Lowery
  2. It's a Piazza speaker connected to a control box then your detector. (see http://www.motorcycleradar.com/products_pg...adar%20Screamer ). I initially saw one on a Hyabusa and the guy loved it so I opted for one on my ST1100. Several friends have seen it work then bought it themselves. The idea, quality and customer service were excellent! his thing relaly works! I first tried to use a detector without the audio but this cost me a ticket (which wound up running $510 after my insurance went up $150/ year for 3 years) so I then tried an ear piece, then I tried the ear piece but this was very uncomfortable so I tried the Radar Screamer. It can be turned off, on low setting for around town, or on high which will knock the hair off your nuts thus heard at any speed with ear plugs! I have no affiliation with the company, simply a satisfied owner... Steve
  3. I also have the Passport 8500 (not saying it's better or worse than the Valentine, let's not get the religious detector threads started) however I opted to go with the "radar screamer" versus ear piece or H.A.R.D. set-up. It can be easily heard at ANY speed with earplugs in.. and yes, others behind you will hear it also up to a couple hunderd feet. This combo has saved me countless free nights in our states finest barred facilites. Steve
  4. Give CBR Bearing company, in San Diego, a shot. I have used them for wheel and head bvearings for my ST1100 and have nothing but great things to say about them both on price and service! http://www.cbrbearing.com/
  5. What is the consensus on preferred radar detector mounting? I have a Escort 8500 and use the "Rdar screamer" on my other bike. I hate to turn up the speed without protection... Thanks, Steve
