talk about drooling over a bike.... My dream is a blackbird, and I will eventually own one. On the the other hand, Aubert is right about, I should have a smaller bike as my first, instead of something so powerful. I look at this thread daily, so I can see whom it goes to. Still, I kick myself knowing we were recently in Tenn... Im gonna die.. Kelly

If you have the time and place to do the work yourself you should give it a try. I did all the work on my yellowbird when I dropped it. It will be cheaper for you to do it and you can have some pride in the finished job. Any paint dealer should be able to mix the color really close.

The overseas nose i bought didnt work very well at all. it was so far off lining up that it made me decied to just repair what i had damaged. Now I have a cheap $150 nose cowl i will never use.

I was wanting to replace the windscreen on the bird with a dbl bubble but some have said to go with the GIVI. Is it much better than stock for buffeting? Was mainly looking to move the air up some for just a little more comfort. Does anyone know of a supplier that has these in stock?

I found these, they e-mailed me and said they have 12 in stock.

4th times a charm, I got it.

I am putting parts on and the one spot I did't take pics of during disassembly is the duct work and wire routing on the inside left side of the nose cowl. I wrote notes in a note pad and labeled everything in a numerical order but I am having problems with the fork clamp hitting small inner panel under the top two panels around te dash. I have tried several different things but either the wires are smashed between the duct and nose panel and won't let the nose line up, or they cause the short panel to hit the fork clamp. I need a pic of the air duct wiring area left side where that rubberized clamp off the lower head light bolt is at if anyone has it.
I think the problem is the clear boot cluster that the clip arm thing off the headlight holds in place may not be in the correct location. This is where a pic would help me.

Thanks, I thought that was right just wanted some backup on it.

I am changing out the low beam with a new bulb and it looks like I have to pry the old bulb out of the plastic socket and use the plastic on the new bulb for the correct lenght. Is that correct?
-
I am about to put the bike back together and I am changing the air filter. Would it be worth it to change out the plugs to the iridium plugs at 15k miles? I am not looking for more power just not sure how long the factory plugs are good for other than what the owners manual says. The tank is off so that part is out of the way already.

They are the pillion pegs from my 04ST. They swap out with no mods. I can't give you a answer about factory exhaust but it looks like it could be close to my yoshi slipons, but that is just a guess.
