Thanks, but I have not picked up a needle & thread since I was in the Navy, let along use a sewing machine! The custom cover was professionally made by Metzi in Australia. I love the way it looks and it is as-new; the bike only gets ridden to & from work and gets covered all the time. But as I said, I like to change the look of the bike every so often, which makes it seem like I have something different!

The stock seat appears to be sold...if you are interested in the custom cover get back to me for a great deal.

Does anyone know if anyone makes aftermarket Bird seats, other than Corbin?

Here are a few pics of the seat. One shows the strap underneath to secure it but the fit is so perfect and tight that they are really not needed IMO.

SOLD This is a custom seat cover, which I had made about a year ago - looks great and only about 2k miles of butt time on it. It can be removed via straps on the underside, which I do if I take the Bird to the shop (so it does not get dirty, etc.). The Silver matches the bike but I think it would also look good on a Black bike. Email me for close-up pics if interested, or check back since I plan to take some and post them here; you can get an idea of what it looks like from my avatar pic. $125 for the custom cover, which includes shipping in the US (international please contact me). If I were you I would not replace them...with your luck you'll get 20k miles out of them :icon_pray:

If it helps, when I have one solid square left on the gas gauge (not blinking) it takes about 4 gallons to fill it. And I never bother to check the mileage anymore...used to get in the low 30 MPG range when I did check it though.

Duct tape it....Wal-Mart has lots of different colors!!!! Seriously, a replacement seat is cheap, or a nice custom cover (super glue the crack first).

If I were you I would just use the O-ring that came with the K&N and take out the one in the airbox...you won't have any problems, trust me I have walked in your shoes!

I guess PETA camps out in your yard protesting the herd of cattle that were killed just to make that one jacket!

I have D&Ds on mine and LOVE the sound...glad I did not listen to the ones who said it would be too loud! And if you wind up buying D&Ds keep in mind you can get them without the big "D&D" emblems on the cans, like I did (see avatar).

I would consider a serious offer if shipping it to Florida was an option - I am still looking for another that my wife can occasionally ride.

Hmmm, I saw that as well when I was cleaning my K&N...wondered the same but I think it is a just a vent tube - I wondered if I disconnected from something by accident. My Bird runs fine with no faults so that must be what it is.

I got mine from batterystuff.com (YTZ14S Scorpion 12 Volt AGM Maintenance Free 12V 11.2AH) - best battery for the price IMHO. And it fits like a glove - no mods required to install it.
