Sabra red pepper is my favorite.  Might have to look for this Cedar brand.  Can't say I've seen it, but don't pay that much attention to hummus brands.  I like it, but don't buy it on a regular basis for the same reason as Blackhawk.  I'll dip way too many chips in it.

I bought the last one at a Kroegers- Fred Meyer store and I prefer it over Sabra.  You may not like it like Carlos.

  2. Update, I have not been able to eat meat alone, I have put more effort to cutting down carbs and sugars.  I have been having some berries in the morning and plant protein powder for lunch and small carb snack in the afternoon.  Dinner I have been having a salad with oil and vinegar dressing and a beef patty.  Feel pretty good and feel like it's sustainable, I do miss bread though.   Will see over time.

Me too, and it's pretty scary what it does to some people.

Oooooh.  Huh.  I've watched different videos about it.

That is a good amount of weight loss and definitly trending in the right direction.

There are such conflicting content out there, but I believe everybody is different.   I guess my key focus really is eating less sugar and high carbohydrate food which is so addicting.  I'm hoping by doing that I reduce my insulin resistance and improve my isulin response while trying to avoid spikes, thus hoping to get my body to burn some of this extra fat and improve overall weight and BMI.    Wathing videos about different sizes of lipids in your blood and that the larger ones are healther.   But I think if I can loose weight and get to my preferred weight I will be healthier overall.

Hard to live on beef patties and lettuce but... it's really about what works for the individual. Best of luck and keep us updated.

My cardiologist recently recommended I start Wegovy to maintain my low weight... seeing my history of yo yo'ing. I asked him what the side affects are or could be and he said "could any of those side effects be worse than death?"

    So... seriously considering it.

I have lost about 22 lbs since I modified my diet, but still eat too much carbs.  I have wanted to get rid of the stubborn belly fat that just hangs on.   I think working on total carbs will help, will try even harder to reduce unless fiber/and fat/carb ratio is better.   I would do anything to avoid drugs like modifying diet to be as healthy as possible.

  5. Having been watching some videos on results of people on a Carnivore diet and have decided to give it try.   Since I have been trying to cut down on excess sugar and carbs the last few years, I still find myself eating too many. The last few days I have tried to cut carbs completly and have already lost 2.5 lbs in 2 days, probably only eating about 1200 calories or less and still walking 3+miles per day.   Eating a beef patty as my main calories and a salad did not leave me feeling hungry so that is good.   I still had a few carbs in the form of triscuits dipped in sugar free peanut butter.   Today, I'm just going to have the patty and salad and no other carbs except for olive oil/basalmic vinegrette dressing.

I wonder how much sugar is actually left after fermenting and distilling.  Oh wait, I have a device right here that can ask the google, turns out that it's 0.  Rum is sugar free.  And fat free.  And carb free.  And has no preservatives.  It's one of the cleanest things you can get from a grocery store shelf these days.

I stand corrected.  It looks like rum has about 97 calories for 1.6 OZ, I thought it contained more calories than that.

On a tangent during a meeting, one 'tard went on a rant about the "medical industry" telling people to cut back on salt.  This is dumb, she said, as evidenced by our ancestors eating a lot of it because it was needed as a preservative.  She actually had a ten pound bucket of something called "Russel's real salt" next to her damn desk to show on video.  WTF?

After the rant, I asked, "You mean back when the average lifespan was half of what it is now?"

    Mass laughter.

    Moran.

Who knows if the ancestors ate even more salt they would have been well preserved as well!

Following to hear if Chris endorses them or not.😀

I agree they add some thickness to the smoothie, and I had to add quite a bit of extra liquid when using two scoops I could taste the basil a little, when I dropped back to one it made it less noticeable and increased my enjoyment of the extra fiber without altering the flavors from the berries. My wife put some in a baggy and watered them and is getting some fresh sprouts.

Funny, I had the same thing going.  Lots of leg work and street hockey in high school, but nothing up top.  I could leg press 700 and couldn't lift the bar on the bench.

Atleast that is better than the hulking guys up top with little pencil legs that look like twigs.

Good for you Chris for getting results without surgery!  Susans hiatal hernia was so severe she had acid reflux almost twenty-four seven. She had surgery to correct the problem. No acid reflux whatsoever now. She also lost over 30 pounds in the process as she was on a liquid diet for the first three weeks then graduating to soft foods for another three weeks. Three months post-surgery there are some foods that won't stay down though it is improving.

Wow, glad to hear she is on the mend.
