  1. One thing I have not seen anyone mention was the PH of the water used.

My well water has a high acid content to it naturally. My conditioning system treats the water for PH to bring it back to neutral.

Also hard water will over time just wear away the metal it runs over. My father has copper pipes that are now 41 yrs old and I am constantly replacing them as they wear out on the bottom and leak.

Distilled water shouldn't have this issue but ya just never know what has been done to the water when you buy it.

I have collected water from my dehumidifier to use for batteries and cooling systems. Never had any issues in anything.

  2. That is awesome Rick. Just remember it will take time but you can do it.

If you can, lift some weights to build lean muscle that will help burn the fat.

Also try to make some fruit smoothies as a snack but add green veggies also. They are very saticefying and healthy.

I use spinach, broccoli, kale, peas, banana, mixed fruit, apple juice, cranberry jucie, milk and honey.

I also add protein powder but you don't need to do that.

It makes a tasty snack for those mid day cravings.

Keep at it you can do it you sexy beast..... ;)

  3. I am not sure I am understanding what you are calling the air joint hoses. The pair valve block off was already done to my nike when I got it. The covers and hoses were in a box of parts that came with the bike.

When I had the valve cover off to check the lash there was nothing to fall anywhere. Therefore I am not sure what you mean.

    Sorry bud.

  4. You could also try running a 10 weight fork oil. I did that and it made a huge difference. I have resprung front and rear with Hyperpro springs and did the 6mm shim and also lowered the front forks I think it was 3mm but I don't remember exactly. My 97 seems tohandle pretty good.

  5. I replaced my factory stator with a factory replacement at 42, 000 IIRC the RR was alreafy replaced with the retrofit R1 deal when I bought the bike with 24, 000 on it. I am now getting ready to roll 68, 000 with no issues.

  6. My 97 is in the same boat so to say. Not quite as drastic though.

I bought the bike with a FP jet kit set up for 800ft above sea level and I live on the east coast about 40' above SL so I really should reset the needles at the very least. The bike just seems to run too good to mess with though. On my last trip home from PA with Erica and a full top box I averaged 44.5 mpg till I got into Jersey. On a day to day I average about 35-37 tops and that is babying the crap out of it.

Maybe this winter I will try to drop the needles a bit.

I hardly need to choke it when I start it in the morning so I know it is running rich not by much but just enough.
