    Best Wax

I do a 3 step job that gives me a wet paint look: 1. Mothers wax cleaner to remove wax and other grime. 2. Mothers Carnuba Wax 3. 3M Polish for that wet, mirror finish Not too bad looking for a 10 year old bike... Rich
  3. +1 That happened to me. Turned out the battery had shit the bed. New battery installed and all is well !! Rich
  4. I have both high and low beam. I swear by them. Best light EVER !!! Warm up time on high beam is about 5 seconds, so no big deal for me. I also just hold down the start button when turning the key, thus eliminating the headlight comming on prior to the bike start up. Rich
  5. Do you still wear a uniform? If so, that may be beneficial. Either that, or give your number at work, so they're fully aware of your work with the police. I tend not to mention where I work, as I really don't want to be treated differently (unless I'm getting pulled over ). I like to get my on my own merit, not my profession. If that makes any sense?? Would a bent rotor vibrate / shake that bad while slow speed braking? The fastest I got up to after the tire change was maybe 50mph and I didn't notice anything when grabbing the breaks. As I said, I only noticed it when getting down to about 10-0mph. Could it be that the slower rotation of the rotor at low speed is making the vibration more pronouced? Could it be anything else as the service guy mentioned? Loose bearing or something like that? Something with the break calipers when the wheel was removed / put back on? Rich
  6. That's "Administrative Communications Officer".....Administrative staff now....just for clarification. This month does make 14 years..God, I'm feeling old !!! I suspect that I'll find out tomorrow what the deal is. I would like to be prepared in the event that I'm told "It's not a dealer caused issue....blah blah blah." Rich
  7. The dealer picked the XX up on Friday. When I backed it out of the garage I could definetly hear something rubbing. Never heard that sound prior, or anything like it. My concern is that the dealer will say it wasn't anything that they did and won't take care of the problem. You know how that goes... "Sorry sir, what we found to be the problem wasn't anything that we did" speach... Any suggestions on what to do if then? I've never had an issue like this with a dealer, car or motorcycle. The bike didn't make any noises or feel like the front end was going to shake off the frame before the tire change. Rich
  8. I called the dealer today and explained the situation. They are going to pick it up tomorrow and take a peek. Fortunately, I spoke to the service guy that rode my bike from the front service drop off to the actual servicing area. He was very neutral on saying if he noticed anything. Of course there wasn't anything to notice. I wish he would have been the one to have rode it back around the front after the tire change. He seemed to suggest a bearing might not be tight or even a bad tire. We'll see.... All I know is that it fucked my ride to Daytona. Maybe it's for the best though. Something bad might have been "around the corner" for me this weekend. Rich
  9. Some 20's would look cool, yo !! Actually, you have very few options on wheel choices. I guess it also depends on how much you want to spend. Rich
  10. What would cause the rotor to bend? Bike has never been down and I am not "hard" on the breaks. Rich A ham fisted jackass at the shop. He either pushed the tire iron into the rotor when taking the tire off, or when breaking the bead he had the rotor on the floor supporting the wheel instead of using blocks to support the wheel. The rotor carriers bend very easily. Had the tire changed at the dealer. Anyone with rotors to sell ?? Rich

  12. I finally noticed a significant vibration from the front end yesterday after getting a new tire installed (dunlop qualifier). I had noticed a slight vibration before the new tire, but yesterday is was considerable. It is most noticeable from 10-0 mph. The bike is a 1997 with about 15k miles. I'm guessing new pads and can the rotors be turned? Looks like I'll be driving the car to the Daytona 200 instead of ridding. Call me paranoid I guess. I don't like taking chances when something doesn't feel right. Thanks in advance everyone. Rich
  13. You mean that's not normal? Think I need to go wax the bike..it's been a few weeks Rich
  14. I don't have the '97 dash. I did the conversion to the newer digital dash. Rich
  15. Pics...need pics !! Rich
  16. My '97 showed 139 RWHP on the dyno. Rich
  17. Don't cheap out. There is NO comparison to HID. I held out for too long before converting both hi/low beams to HID. Regualr bulbs are like candles compared to HID. Rich
