  1. I had a moment of old-timers-disease. I forgot to get the picture to you. I wrote myself a note this morning to remember it tonight. Sorry.
  2. I have an extra that Toynutt put together. I will send you a picture later to see if you want it.
  3. While you are at it, take off the seat cowl and check the connector from the R/R to the stator. It should be covered with a rubber boot and has three yellow wires coming from the stator to it. If there is any corrosion in the connector, clean it well and put some dielectric grease in there.
  4. off the top of my bald head I would check the main ground connection under the seat and behind the tank. make sure it is clean and tight. Perhaps you have a loose or corroded fuse?
  5. Because your 7' tall and weigh 600lbs. Maybe you are leaning too far forward on the tank. Try sitting back more with very little weight on the bars.
  6. I think the main reason for the connector at the R/R to fail is corrosion. That is what mine did. It is a part that is tucked away a bit and not part of usual maintenance. A little corrosion increases resistance and overheats it.
  7. Pm replied to. Yes, sweetums, I know you want my top box. You have first dibs.
  8. Are you running a power commander with mapping for the aftermarket cans? If so, did the map richen the mixture at all? If so, the stock cans may restrict the flow causing an overly rich situation. That's all I got. BTW, my '99 sometimes has a smell of gas. I usually get in the low 30 mpg range of mixed riding. I do have a tough time of keeping my wrist from twisting too quickly though.
  9. How about if I throw in a Nelson Rigg set of saddle bags and a large Manta tank bag?
  10. If you are doing it for maintenance, I can't say. If for storage to get the front tire off the ground, I do it every winter. Except, I use a couple pieces of PVC under the ends of the fork tubes. It is parked in a corner where it won't get bumped.
  11. I have one that was in my '99. Not sure if all years use the same model. Cover shipping from 48111 and a donation to the board and it is yours.
  12. As a diversion to the TFT and 115lb show, I offer a bump.
  13. Could it be a vibration issue? Any way of mounting some rubber gaskets either on the bulb itself or the housing attachment points?
  14. If you have not already, meander over to the garage section. There is a ton of info on intake, exhaust, and power commanders. I recomend you wait for a while before doing any more mods. Get to know the bike to see if it really needs anything else.
  15. Not gonna convince you of something you don't need. On a stock bird the stock filter is more than adequate.
  16. Hey neighbor. If you want a k&n, make an offer and you can have mine. I went back to stock.
  17. Alright all you looky lous. Elevation up the list.
  18. 2000 view bump. People are looking, what's keeping them from buying?????
  19. Two other points to check. The grounding connection on the frame just behind the fuel tank. The connector under the rubber "hood" that goes to the R/R. Mine was corroded and burned up.
  20. Are horsepower ratings at the crank or wheel?
  21. Bump back to the first page. I hate being second page!
