  1. So, do explain which instrument of pain you used for that operation. If you can still type that is. Oh, by the way, a little NewSkin will heal that right up.
  2. Cool! You had a slipper clutch installed and didn't even know it. Now go hit the track.
  3. Never mind. I got it. There site made it seem that you neeeded to copy all lines of code. I only needed to copy the .gif line and insert it as an image not a link. Give me some time and I'll get most things figured out.
  4. So I searched and did not find anything. I have tried a few different times. mybe the knob Creek i skicking in. How do I get one of them fancy weather underground thingys in my sig line. I tried copying the info from their site for my location and pasting it in the link window of my sig line. Am i doing it wrong?
  5. Maybe 30 minutes from my place. I can bill you my usuall flat rate at $356 per mile. Let me know the contact information on the guy if you want it looked at. It will probably be tomorrow afternoon. Ian has a spelling bee in the morning.
  6. Let me know if you want me to give it a looksee.
  7. And all stickers were removed within 2500 miles. That is how fast this bike really is!
  8. I was looking at these earlier. No question I'll have one of these. not a bad choice I guess, I'd want them to be always on rather than needing a switch but I can see where they would get attention. Thanks for the suggestions. The wire leads on the flashing lights are quite long. You should be able to wire them into your running light circuit at some point. I can not vouch (sp) that they will work for long periods of time in a constant state. You may want to check with the mfg. on that.
  9. I wired a set of these into my stock taillight. They are mounted just below and to the sides of the taillight. They flash rather brightly when the brakes are applied. Easy to install and really catch your eye. Flashing break lights
  10. I know. I am so bummed I'm without funds. There is also a KLR 650 for $1400 and a 230 quadsport for $450. So many toys............
  11. Looks like a good deal if anyone is interested in a v-twin. Linky
  12. I will re-check the main line. No, the tank was only half or less full. I am starting to think an injector may be pumping slightly too much fuel into it. I am currently running a tank of sea foam through it to see if that will clear up a possibly stuck injector. If that does not work and the main feed line is good??????????????? I will keep thinking.
  13. The last two days I have been getting a smell of gasoline on my '99 bird. I looked back at the archives and though maybe pressure regulator. Seems a common ailment. I checked the vent line on the regulator, as it has been posted that it should be dry. It is dry no odor of gasoline in the vent line. No gas in the air box. The throttle bodies are all dry. I pulled the plugs and all are dry and nicely colored. I did notice a gas smell at the breather hose from the front of the airbox to the right side of the valve cover. Not sure if this is normal or not. I can't tell if the oil has a gas smell to it or not. Bad nasal's. It could just be due for it's regular 3000 mile change. There is no indication of a fuel leak anywhere. Any ideas on what is causing the fuel smell? Do you think it is safe to ride? Should I just change the oil and put it up for the winter and deal with it in the spring?
  14. As long as your fluid is at the proper level and your fan is working and you don't actually touch the "H", you should be fine. My '99 runs hot in traffic even in cooler weather. As soon as we start moving, she cools right down.
  15. You could use wax. That will make them shiny.
  16. If you have a Cabella's near you they sell Danner. That is where I got mine. Love 'em.
  17. I have downloaded a bunch of books and have started to read. I have a friend who reloads and can help me. Just try to get an idea of a price it will cost to start up. I have seen reloading kits only like this one http://cgi.ebay.ca/Lee-Anniversary-Reloadi...1QQcmdZViewItem Just want something cheap to start out on to see if I will like doing it or not. This Lee setup should do well. I have everything pictured, except a different press. Take your time and make sure you follow a set routine. If you don't you can end up with double powder charges! Also make sure your overall length matches up with the particular bullet and powder you are using. As everyone else has said, read up and be patient in learning the proper steps.
  18. When you say nothing happens, do you mean it does not start or the light is not affected?
  19. That is a sharp bike. On the tank, you may also want to look into POR-15. I used that on my Radian. I had heard that if you do not do the Kreem exactly correct, it will peel off. Never used it so only hearsay. The POR-15 is easy to use. Just a little time consuming.
  20. O.K. KICK ME IN THE HEAD. BEAT ME WITH A 2X4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so fricking embarrassed!!! It was in gear. I was so flustered I didn't even check that the neutral light was not lit. I am going to bed now.
  21. Sorry, did you say something. I was just staring at your avatar. I did check fuses and so far they are all good. All the connections in the starter switch have a black coating on the connections. I will have to scrape it off. Your sure you reassembled the starter switch correctly? I believe so. I will do it again tomorrow and see. I am out of light and patience now.
  22. Well here is what is going on. I am not sure where to start in the diagnosis department. First off it is a '99 Bird. I installed an HID system in the low beam position. Worked great. Then one day the HID flickers when I turn on the key. That is all. When I start the bike, no HID. High beam works fine. So I ride with the high beam on for a day. Then I went to install a set of flashing LED's on the rear of the bike to complement the taillight. Since the bike has two taillights, I ask the wife if they both activate or only one activates when I pull the front break lever. I do this to see if I it matters which light bulb I tie into. She says I have no break lights! I try the rear pedal. I have break lights, both. So, I order a new swich for the front lever. I now have break lights. Since the starter switch de-activates the lights when starting the engine, I open up the case on the starter button box to see if anything is amiss. All looks fine. So I put in the original bulb in the headlight and it works fine.???? I try to start the bike. No go. It doesn't even click the solenoid. I put the battery on a charger untill it is charged fully. Only takes 15 minutes. Re-install. No luck. All lights work, fuel pump starts up, yet nothing in the starting department. HELP! I am so confused right now.
  23. I just saw these things and wondered if they would help in this instance. Add a link
  24. You stated a $600 reduction in price for the bike without accessories. What would you consider selling the accessories for?
