  1. Anyone know what it would likely cost to repaint an upper fairing? I cracked mine up a little, and would like one intact, but black on a red bike... What would the upper go for, for that matter? Thanks,
  2. I used to feel bad about it, but had a few people point out that that it is a way that the companies can say 'thank you' to the various groups that are serving the public. Or that have just out-lived a good portion of the public, in the case of senior citizen discounts! That being said, I'm not very likely to go soliciting a discount, if I hadn't already known that there was one available. As said above, though, generally a good store to do business with, and often very good prices. The sale flyers are good for otherwise unadvertised specials as well. (after hours sales?!)

I'm not absolutely sure on the hose location for the vent from crankcase to the air box, but I would think it simple enough to just find an appropriately sized PCV valve at your local auto parts store and put it in that hose. No need to re-invent the wheel, as earlier said, and that is why the automotive industry uses a valve. It may not be actually under vacume, but at least the check valve action keeps you from pressurizing the crankcase.
  4. Does anyone have anything to say on how well the grip heaters are working for them? with or without the heat tape under them? Also, does anyone else think that these are apparently the same items, just rebadged: Symtec heater: http://www.casporttouring.com/store/mercha...tegory_Code=new Enduro Engineering heater: http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?L1=&L2=&...item=WHI_49-221
  5. Here's another trick that someone thought up, for balancing motorcycle tires. I found it on the BMW boards. http://www.airheads.org/old/index.php?Tech...heel%20Balancer (I know, I know, I was slumming. 'never do it again 'ocifer, I swears!)
  6. You might try CycleGear if there are any in your area. Not the brightest nuts in the drawer, working there, though. I ended up pricing mine out at a different store, and getting sizing done there. It would have been a couple dollars less at cycle gear, but they weren't that confidence inspiring in thier ability to guide in getting a correct fit. This being said, if you know what size you need, or can figure it out well enough on your own, they were lower than any other store in the area, and had a decent selection of Arai helmets, as well as replacement visors.
  7. Don't forget that they'll also price match against local stores on identical items, and they also have a 10% military discount, for those of us who fall in that category.
