  1. I turned the thing on a half hour ago and I"m good, have plenty of hot water. No leaks.

Saved 250 buck doing it myself. The great thing is the heater with the 12 year warrante was only 250 bucks, 50 bucks less than the model with only the 6 year warrante.

  2. I just installed a new water heater. What a fun job :icon_twisted: First I forgot to turn on the hot water in the house when I was filling the tank and the fucking connection to the house or I should say trailer in case organ donor is reading this, failed and made a big bang scared the shit out of me.

Anyways, the water connections seem to be secure now with no leaks; I had to go back to home deto and get a new compression washer and more teflon tape for the connection. I connected the electrical wiring with ground. So my question is... I had the electric turned off at the meter, now it is back on. I made sure both the temp adjusters for the elements were set to about 120f. Before I turn on the breaker is there anything I should do first.?

  3. Why isn't the bike on a battery tender? It's got the pigtail for it.

Because the bike is parked at my mom's apartment complex. As soon as I get the fucker down here it will be on it all the time its in my driveway.

  4. Wally World probably won't have the right sized battery, buying it on eBay will be too complicated for you (with shipping, and flying up here), so the dealership will be the easiest thing, hence, what you'll end up doing.

Plus, I'm sure that the batteries at the dealer are MUCH better, since they're OEM, right?

OEM for plastics yes; but a battery I like to upgrade and get the best one I can interms of CCA and amps, some that I have found are 10 or 11 or 12 Amp/hour and 180-200+ CCA

  5. My bird has been sitting up in Connecticut for a few months now, and I have not ridden it since the

end of January. The battery is original, on my 2000 bird and I'm wondering if it should be replaced.

    What brand do you use?

    Thanks!

  6. I have an '03 XX and have been using Pirelli Diablo Strada's .... great grip and wear in the wet and dry, I hve done about 5000Km's on the current set (my first) and still have heaps of tread left ... very happy with these :icon_clap:

+1 on the Strada's, great tires. :icon_cool: Put about 3k on them so far.

  7. Just had my chain replaced with a 530zvm2 and asked the stealer for oem front and rear sprockets. oem for my 2000 bird is 17/44. Looked online and some places say 17/45 and some say 17/44, so I looked in my Honda service manual, and nowhere does it say what the correct number is, but it did have a couple of pics of the sprocket, so I counted, and found 44teeth in both pics. So I'm wondering if the manual was for European models but all it says is printed in the usa. I wish I asked for the old sprocket so I could see for myself what the fuck the right count was. :icon_wall: . all I wanted was a stock replacement.

Oh and the dealer fucked up on the chain order which thanks to Ruhi, caught it in time to order the right one before it was installed. originally I had asked for the best chain availiable and the dealer said that the 530vm was. It pays to know exactly what you need, because no one cares about your bike but you.

    rant over

  8. 10W-30 or 10W-40. Best bet for cooler climate is probably 10W-40. If you can find a 5W-40 would be best for cold conditions. Iv'e even seen 0W-30. The lower the first number the qucker it flows from a cold start. I'm more concerned with the second number during warm weather, I like it to be 40 or 50.

Also I know Mobile 1 has some racing 10W-40 spec. for motorcycles. I think I'll try that in my next change.

  9. Would a PCIII work on a 00 bird? Looking on the web I see (only the european models) for years 99-01 otherwise it says PCII.

Just got off the phone with DynoJet.....

All models are the PC-III nowadays; no more PC-II

They have them for all US model years (PGM-FI).

    Great Thanks!

So then Hell ya I'm in. :icon_dance:
