Your second attempt (two posts up) is working fine for me. Looks good
  2. Custom molded earphones and earplugs, mostly higher end stuff (Etymotic, Shure, ect...). I've dealt with them on three seperate occasion now, and it's been a pleasure every time. Guy named Tom Bergman seems to be the main contact, real good about keeping you up to date on order status and such. Prices are not the absolute lowest, but the customer service is top notch. http://store.yahoo.com/earplugstore/index....l?ESCOM+Forward
  3. The current draw for the LEDs will be considerably less. Not an issue unless you're using 'em for signals.
  4. Sadly, not a direct swap. I don't know of anyone who's tried it, but I imagine it'd be involved, perhaps going as far as swapping the fender. Chicago, eh? We've got a few members local around here (I'm in Naperville) Keep your eye on the meets section, we do at least a couple runs out to the Galena area every year if you're interested. Welcome aboard.
  5. 6"3' , 215- it does sit you lower, but hasn't been a comfort problem for me. But on longer days (600miles+) I use a gel pad, which gets me that inch back, anyway.

    190 mph

Was that a shot at me? Just curious....... :???:
  7. Did this really strike you as a good idea, after what you just described? It might be a Honda, but, jeez, dude....apparently no biggie, as the damage would seem to have already been done. You might want to try practicing you technique a a cheaper bike. No offense, dude, but I have a feeling if anyone can kill this motorcycle, it's you.

  9. I went from the Koss plugs to a set of the ER-6s, world of difference, and worth the $$ if you're gonna use them a lot. I've got a set of custom molded plugs to fit the ER-6s on the way, once they arrive I will be in audio heaven  But....the problem with either option is they don't work with the Chatterbox system unless you wanna break out the solder gun. The typical stereo jack ain't gonna do it, and you'd still have the mic to deal with- it'll get a little complicated, but probably doable.
  10. Bruce, when I was using the Koss type plugs I never even mastered getting the helmet on without screwing them up, so I taped them in. Pain in the ass, but worth it for longer trips. Congrats on the detector, I just bought the same one. Just remember- Wisconsin State Police use LIDAR almost exclusively, so don't get too cocky, you know what bastards they can be

    190 mph

Heh-heh. Safe, at 190mph, on a public road. Good luck with that
  12. There have been enough guys that have and reported no need for ajustment that a lot of guys (myself included) choose not to waste the money/effort at 16k. I'll probably check mine at 32k (or a little beyond, should hit 32 sometime around mid-summer  ) just for giggles, but expect them to be pretty much spot on, as has been reported by others.
  13. Don't bother would be the best tip I could think of. Might be worth checking a bit down the road just for laughs, but an XX with valve clearances out of spec at that milage is unheard of.
  14. You fucker, just read "my own" post. How'd you do that without the edit showing up? I'll leave it for comic value. No gay moderators? I guess there's one exception for every rule, aye?
  15. Haven't the slightest clue what you're talking about, really. Besides, he said the head was worn off already, so do we really know it was a roofing nail? Mmmm? DO WE? Thought not. I'd be careful throwing accusations like that around, we....er.. um, meant to say I know where you live. Hate to see something unfortunate occur, and all that......
  16. Control freak :poke:  But, if I wasn't such a loser, I'd do the same thing. Too bad they don't allow gay Moderators around here.........
  17. Bridgestone makes about ten different tires using the battlax name, you might want to be a bit more specific in your recommendation :poke:  I'd say Avons for milage/stick combonation, or Metzler M1s for great grip on a budget (props to Mac, our resident metzler bigot, on that one).
  18. The farther you lean over, the shorter the fall  Seriously, thinking like that can get you hurt. Your mind should be on what your doing, not some worst case scenario. I've never had a serious crash, so I can't give you any experienced advice, but taking (or re-taking) the MSF's experienced rider course would probably help, or even a track school. Two years is a long time. Just my $.02, feel free to tell me to take a flying leap if I'm outta line
  19. I went through two Avon rears and one front (AV 35-36), never had a problem. Haven't tried the new ones, but I've heard more good than bad. If anything it sounds as though they may have some quality control issues, but they seem to be good about backing up their product.
  20. It was Keith Code who rigged up that little experiment. I'm pretty sure what testrider is talking about is the fact that once you've initiated the turn and reached the lean angle desired, the input on the bars should be minimal until it's time to stand it up. So whilst leaned over, you should be "neutral" on the bars, unless some steering correction is required.
  21. If you're talking about typical right and left hand turns on city streets, I use first. If traction might be an issue I'll kick it up to second to keep from spinning.
  22. That's for CA, but not true of 49 state bikes. My '01 has no O2 sensor. Not sure if it's been added to the 49 state models since, but I don't think it has.
  23. Discontinued in the U.S. Still available (basically unchanged) in foriegn markets.
  24. Who said anything about $200? :???:
