I guess from 96 upwards all the braking systems on the XX is basically the same. Has anyone fitted braided lines to their XX, if so, how much did it cost.. If you can remember if it's atall possible can you post how many lines and the lengths..... I am going to fit braided lines and wanted to ask.....

My tank is 100% perfect apart from the slight chip from a stone, I used the pen and the laquer, I wished I had never done it, It sticks out like a sore thumb. The stone chip looked better!!! I'll just live with it.

My XX runs a bit better with the K/N, but I did notice that the end cans tarnished a little, but polished off when I got home.

I have a few small scratches on my XX, So, I bought the colorite touch up pen and laquer, what a bunch of CRAP! didn't even match, it looks worse now. Who supplies better touch up paint????? mine is the silver....

Where do I buy one from? I saw an XX the other day with one on and his radiator was clean! my front wheel throws crap up! Any ideas? Phil.

I'm at 28K and still on the original chain/sprockets, my friends R6 has eaten 2 chains so far, his chain dries quickly even though he lubes it with spray crap!

I spoke with the Older mechanic at the same place (Honda) he advised that the younger mechanic was speaking out of his ASS, so that just tells me you guys are right. He actually said he worked on a XX last year with 169K on it and it needed 2 shims!!!!!!! Maybe I will just stick him in the back of my police car and hit the brakes hard and the metal screen will stop him coming through to the front!!! I never said that!!!!!!!!! Anyway, All loaded up ready for Deals Gap, the trailer is loaded down with the XX and a SV650. I will post PICs when I get back, OH! Just a brief question, I bought my 02 XX with 17K and then got the Honda dealer to do the main service, ie, spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter..... I'm now at 27k, and most likely take it in for another service around 30k. I change my oil (honda oil) every 1200-1500 miles..... Now, one of the honda mechanics advised me to sell my XX on before I get to about 35k because at that mileage I am looking at valve work and other things.... This has got me worried, as I DONT want to sell my pride and joy.. I had a GS1000 years ago (and got one now too) that did well over 100K with only a set of piston rings thrown in. So, what sort of mileage am I looking at for major work on the engine? this engine is very, very quiet and runs perfect. I've even thought about buying another engine ready to switch out when something happens.. Any advise guys?????? Phil.

To be quite honest, I use GM (General Motors) Top engine cleaner and Carb cleaner, it works 110%. Phil. Oh! actually, red transmission fluid works pretty good in the fuel, not too much though..

My guess would be call your local honda dealer (service) they should be able to give you the correct info.

It was installed by a mechanic (it was his before) who had already warned me about this. Either it was too much or too little oil. I tried all positions, but I couldn't get along with it. I sold it again.... It may have been a faulty one then, They have always worked properly for me, but if not bled properly they act up.

You probably had it turned up too high, if you don't bleed it properly from the start it will always act up, bleed it properly and it will work for you the lifetime of your bike, honest, try it. Phil.

DONT PUT THE CLIP TYPE ON....................... A guy in New Orleans put it on his XX, after 3K it broke and now he needs new engine cases!

Mines got Heli bars on it, bolt straight up, I even raised them some to get sat up more.

Sorry guys!!! I do mine every 1300-1500 miles, as soon as it goes black and thinned it's useless and begins to slowly deteriate engine parts, and I use Honda oil/filter. I do a lot of high spped riding at least once a week, on average about 300 mile ride sometimes up at 160-170s, but average cruise speed is 80.

I have a TV in my workshop, which is approx 45ft from the rear of my house, I can get about 4 channels with the antenna, (crappy picture) How can I link up my cable (approx 50 channels within my house) to my workshop TV to get channels?

With summer slowly approaching, how do I get rid of the ant piles in my front yard? I have used everything on the market, which only shifts the pile about 3ft to the side........

Here's how to find out the problem.... Go to the Chevy dealer and speak nicely to the service writer, ask him is it atall possible can you use the TECH2 on my truck and see what I need to bring the truck in for.. If he's nice enough to do it, he will tell you what your computer is communicating about the problem.. You can only try, failing that drive around back and ask one of the techs for a few bucks can you tell me whats wrong...... I used to work at the Chevy dealership and they were friendly enough to do it for free, usually they want to charge .5 (30 mins labor)

If I can remember, use a 19 mm wrench on the smaller of the 2 nuts (holding lines to the filter) and vice grips on the other bolt, begin to release the 19mm nut and place a bowl under it, the pressure will subside within a minute, then you can remove the old filter. It still will leak, but not much. Phil.
