  1. Anyone done this program? We got the Windsor Pilates DVD's last year, I tried the introductory DVD once, and even though I'd been wanting them for some time, never did it again. Thinking of giving it another go as it's no impact, and my joints are starting to ache again with the extra weight I'm piling on.

    Plus........seems like whenever you see someone who does pilates/yoga.......they're a very "lean" muscular, rather than bulky. I believe they say something about it being from working your long muscles or something??? Right now........I'm kinda shaped like Jerome Bettis :icon_twisted:

    I'm guessing that's probably it!!! Yeah, I know......I'm just a bit confused about the delayed reaction. The weight didn't start hitting me until the last couple months.....seems like it took a few months to start showing up.

    You used to be working out and now you're not, but still eating the same...

    Losing and gaining fat is a funny thing.....

    You can eat right and excersize and not lose an ounce on the scale for a long time, and then wake up and BAM 3-4 pounds gone. The reason for this is when your body loses fat....it replaces the fat lost with water....after your body realizes that its really not coming back....it will lose the water that took the fats place....

    When you gain weight at the rate you are, it almost works in the opposite manner....for every glycogen store you have, your body attaches 2 water molecules to it.....your body is storing glycogen because you arent burning it up with excersize. so you are gaining....that is in no way "All" fat, alot of it is water.

    You also have to take into consideration that your wife is expecting.....When I was preggers, when I gained weight...so did hubby. He actually developed cravings too. I would have to run to the grocery store and buy him pecan praline ice cream cause he "needed" it. The cashiers would laugh at me cause they thought it was for me! :icon_lol:

    Or you could be getting your period soon. :icon_lol::icon_wink:

    Whatever the case...once that new baby comes home.....you will start up losing again. You wont have time to eat...and whatever time you do have, you will be needing your sleep!

    My sister lost some weight recently and I asked her what she was doing.

    Apparently she makes her own "stacker".....everyday she takes a baby asprin, 200mg caffiene pill, and a primateme tablet......(yes thats a pill for asthma)

    she drinks about 2 sugar free Rock star energy drinks a day as well..... Is she the friendly neighborhood independent pharmacist?!? :icon_whistle:

  4. Unfortunately...you're probably just getting older.

    As we age our metabolism slows meaning that we can longer eat the same foods and stay the same weight...

    OK.....now you sound just like my wife Melissa.....she just told me the same thing the other day!! :icon_eek: I'm hitting the big 35 in June :icon_hand: :icon_nono: (sidebar.....how come when I click the other fingerwag, it always shows up as "naughty"????

    If you're concerned about it, I would go get a physical which is always a good thing to do anyways before starting a new diet/exercise regime. Yeah.........had one back in the fall. Those always strike me as B.S. for the most part. As long as you're breathing & can walk...you're OK. I did ask for a cholesterol check. Came back high. They told me diet/exercise. I told them I am. They said "then take this Rx". I still haven't gotten it filled...Why.....'cause I'm Smuckin' Fart!!!! :icon_wink: :icon_duh:

    Only other thing I'm thinkin' it could be, is that for about 3-5 months last year I was running about 3.5 miles one day, then lifting the next. Weight was still hanging around 245......wasn't losing anything really, but thought maybe I was seeing/feeling some changes in the mirror. Got sick in between Thanksgiving/Christmas & quit for about month or 2. Have picked the running back up last few weeks, though not at the same distance 'cause of the increased weight. Knee has been bothering me again afterwards too.

    Anyway.........quit that about 4 months ago, but wondering if my sudden weight increase the last 6 weeks or so is tied to that............delayed reaction???

  5. OK.......Bad news.........ate crap all weekend (daughter's b-day party) and weighed in at 260 yesterday a.m!!!!! :icon_eek: Haven't weighed that much in 3 years......scary!!

    Good news.......ran with the boys for about 40 min's last night at their track practice

    Bad news........still weighed 260 last night

    Good news.......lost about a lb of it this a.m

    I'm beginning to wonder if there's something wrong with me. In the last couple months I've been gaining weight like CRAZY!!! And I don't think I'm eating any worse than I have previously

  6. Official Friday morning weigh in..........257.6

    Activity this week..........played basketball for better part of an hour Monday night in my son's "Parent/Son Scrimmage" for their last practice of the season. Ran couple miles (1/2 hour) 3 or 4 times this week. Passed on several bad food choices 'cause of you guys :icon_razz: , but still had other snacks even though I knew you were watching!!! :icon_nono: Plus I've been taking that HydroxyCut :icon_rolleyes:

  7. I'm in.........Lord knows I need all the motivation I can get!!! Have put on 15 lbs just since holidays......30 lbs. in last 16 months since I got my student engineer card!!! :icon_redface::icon_eek:

    I even bought a bottle of that HydroxyCut last week and have been trying it.....STILL putting on weight!! I'm in full fledged CRISIS mode at this point!! :icon_silenced: :icon_eek:

  9. Almost forgot.......we got those sugar free jellos too. Haven't tried one yet....I keep forgetting they're in there. Never been a big jello person (unless it's mixed with whip cream :twisted: ) but I guess desperate times call for desperate measures!! :D

  10. Hey..........we started the same day......I'm on Day 4 now too!!! I weigh myself everyday...always have...damage control :lol: Anyway, I'm down about 5-6 lbs so far.

    Have had a few quick cravings for stuff, usually TV commercial induced, but nothing I've caved to so far.

    Hang tough. My wife wanted to do it with me again.......she was my rock the last time, but with her being pregnant, she's having a harder time sticking to it this time :wink:

  11. OK........was reading this thread again the other day & decided to give SB a try. Today was day 1/Phase 1. Bought the book last night. Had lost 52 lbs. over the last couple years, but this year have seen 20-25 of it come back. Sitting on my ass as an engineer plus the hours aint helpin'. At least as a conductor I was constantly walking 2-4 mile trains & climbing up and down ladders all day.

    1 day down..........13 to go

  12. I pulled 153 when I had mine dynoed back in Sept. I was really stoked about my first time on the dyno until everyone on here started getting hatey with me.......kinda calling me a liar, or telling me I got ripped off by the dealership with a shoddy run.

    I didn't see anyone calling you a liar in that thread, but your numbers definitely don't make sense.

    58lb/ft of torque is more like 750 numbers vs. XX numbers (rated @ 85, IIRC).

    These number can't be from an XX, the revlimiter cuts in at 11,200. Sounds more like a new R1 with that high of redline and HP.

  13. That's the estimate. I wouldn't doubt it, I got a 150hp dyno run on my jetted '97 here at sea level.

    Glad to hear I'm not the only one. I pulled 153 when I had mine dynoed back in Sept.     I think that the Mototeck undertail (new design) is the best thinhg that you can do for the appearance of your bird. What do you think of this?

    You're right........That does look SWEET!! However, $$ is always an issue with me :lol: ........how much did that one set you back? Did you install it, or have someone else do her, and how hard was it?

    That's 'cause the bean burritos were subsidizing your mileage so you didn't notice the dropoff!!! :twisted:

  17. Got her all put back together today, and rode her for about 30 miles. She was leaking coolant after about 5 minutes of running. I shut her down & pulled the tank back up. Couldn't really find anything. Started her up again & she never did it anymore. Josh thought maybe she had a "burp" since I had the hoses off??

    Stayed in the neighborhood at first. Stopped and got some Isoheat and put it in, since she seemed to be idling a little rough even though she'd been running for 1/2 hour at that point. Seemed to smooth out after that. Ventured out around town and then hit the expressway & opened her up to 100 for a few miles. Did notice a slight hesitation a couple times.....not sure what that was, or maybe just my head.

    Anyone notice my post above about the plugs I pulled out? Do those sound like the originals, and what's the black soot a sign of.......running too rich? I'll try & post pix of them a little later......think my Palm is uploading again.

  18. All I got left is the tank. Not sure where a couple of these hoses go.

    Big one coming out from under the tank. If you're looking up under the tank, it's on the left hand side and comes directly out from the tank, not the petcock.

    Little skinny one directly under the #2 plug?

    One that's attatched to white plastic hose clip and I think the overflow bottle hose in a T ??? I know the other end used to hang down by the shock. I had to tear it out from under seat area to get tank all the way off. Other end is still attached to the petcock under the tank. Not sure where the 3rd end of the T goes and what that clip clips on to.

    There are 2 skinny little nozzles at the bottom of the petcock.....Is that where the 2 skinny little hoses in previous 2 paragraphs go? If so, which one to which nozzle?

  19. Mine's about the same as yours. I get anywhere from 120-150 a tank on mine depending on how much gas I shoehorn in her. I'm changing my plugs right now. I'm kinda curious to see if I get better mileage now like some of these other guys seem to.
