  1. I use a bomb proof mount from gadgetguy. It's a pinch bolt mount for clip-ons, and a switched dual relay kit w/2 powerlet sockets on both sides of the ignition from here. GPS cradle Touratech In addition to a switched fuse panel w/seperate ground block for hard wired stuff like voltmeter, grips,xm and radar. Hobi, check out the fuse box in the 2nd link.
  2. Sounds like Staintune is building them again.Hope a few make it to the states before they stop production again. Received this e-mail earlier this month in response to my inquiry as to U.S. availability of the round cans. Dennis, They are available, part number HO MS CBR 11 RC, we have only just started producing them again. Please contact our US importer www.cbtimports.com for price and availability. Thanks for the enquiry. Doug Cusack Sales Division Staintune Australia

  7. Yes I'm in on a group buy. Decent price and then I can shop for a Staintune or Ti.
  8. Page 116 of the service manual for headlight aim.
  9. I've been looking for an alternate to the Givi screen I'm running and had considered the Vario or some Saeng edging on the stock screen but found a French company w/ a touring screen and a Canadian distributor secdem for it that has the most upturn or lip that I've seen. Anyone know of this screen as far as quaility, fitment, etc. I only found two hits on a search and they were from several years ago and not much info. The Givi is great but the airstream force feeds me thru the chin vent and the stock one hits right at the neck. The price is 144 Canadian. Kinda pricey but I've had my fill of grasshoppers and dragonflies, although I still enjoy the occasional bee. Here's hoping this works. [attachmentid=3024]
  10. [attachmentid=3000] Good info on the proper BT020 fitment. If for heavens sake these do not work, smack me w/ the keyboard. Then go to bridgestone www.bikersoracle.com/jaws/bridgestone.htme and link it for him please, then feel free to berate my skill level. bridgestone.htm
  11. I know you said you did'nt want to spend big $ on powerlet products but in my experience a lighter type outlet is susceptible to vibration- contact problems and corrosion.Just for reference check the site of easternbeaver.com. I have one of his dual/switched relay kits and they are slick. Do a search and you can find all kinds of fuse blocks and accessory outlet set-ups.
  12. Anyone notice if the front fender on the L. side [clutch lever side] has less clearance than the other side?Mine has about 1/2" less and I can't find any reason for it unless it'a designed that way for brake line clearance. On the l. caliper the top line that crosses under and behind the second master cylinder seems like it touches the fender on that side.I put a fender extender on my last bird but did not notice this when I put it back on.So I put one on this one and bolted it up but even after pulling the line away w/ a cable tie there is still a difference. Is this normal?Am I normal?
  13. Not sure about high mileage owners, but I can almost guarantee the lowest odometer reading. My '03 with 8K was totaled last July and I found a new replacement while in the emergency room. Brought it home in December and have been drilling, cutting, grinding, soldering, etc. over the winter. Just back to work after 8 months off [surgeries, therapy, etc.] and I can't wait to get back on the proverbial horse. Hoping for 10-12K this year. [attachmentid=455]
  14. I use them both.Mounted extenda w/adhesive{methyl ethyl ketone}in lieu of screws and the ducktail just bolted up to existing fender holes. The extenda offers some added radiator protection against debris and may keep the elements off the front dam a bit.The ducktail will lessen the rooster tail in rain, mud, etc.I removed the factory license plate bracket and light to mount my motech sideracks, which may have offered a little more protection due to it's extention and overhang.Cheap protection and hardly noticeable.
  15. Eastern Beaver has a strange name but some decent electical products. You can check Painless Performances' Cirkit Boss,Centech or Blue Sea for a fuse block-power strip and add a relay to a switched hot wire. Some like the cirkit boss have some switched and at least one always hot terminals. If your short on $$ you can get every thing you need at Radio Shack.I have two hot Powerlet sockets up front and and a Blue Sea 5025 fuse block[switched] for hard wired accessories like my heated grips,xm and my detector.
