  1. Warp, Thanks. Yeah, it's the connection to the bike that threw me. I watched the installation video on the CD that comes with the kit and expected the cable connection to be obvious. I poked around under the seat for a while but couldn't find anything that looked like the cables on the PCIII. The real pain is that the garage where I keep my bike doesn't allow me to work on it there, so I'm trying to do this in the street in front of my apartment. So, when you say "under the seat, at the back" are you referring to the area behind the tool kit, or further back in the tail?
  2. Guys, Sorry for the stupid question, but the XX is new to me and I'm somewhat mechanically challenged :crazy: . Where do I find the connection point for my PCIII? :-k Please don't say "under the seat." =;
  3. Warchild, Thanks for the post and the info. I've got an 03, so I'll call Honda today. Cheers.
  4. I got an email from an XX owner who sold me his Ohlins shock on Ebay this week. In it he tells me that Honda had a recall for all XX'x for 'brake proportioning'. Does anyone else know about this? Here's part of his email:
  5. I bought a pair of sliders on Ebay yesterday. This morning the guy who sold them to me sends me the following email: I thought this was really honest of the guy to tell me this. But then why sell the damn things on Ebay if their not useful, or for that matter, destructive to the XX? Anybody got any insights into the use of sliders on the Bird?
  6. John, Again, thanks for your advice and guidance. Your expertise was invaluable. I'll follow your suggestions and let you know how it works out. Cheers, Bob
  7. Redd Bird & John, Thanks for the advice. I Googled 'chemical abrasives' and found this article: http://www.procarcare.com/icarumba/resourc...a_bodycare3.asp It clearly explains the nature of clear coat, which I hadn't known, and which echoes John's advice. Frankly I'd like to stay away from 60 grit, as it makes me bleed :gotgas: Can I ask you, John, if there's a polishing product that you would recommend? Thanks again.
  8. What's the best way to remove scratches on the fuel tank? I've got a new 2003 Bird and before I could get the tank bra on I managed to put a small scratch on the clear coat. It's not deep or really noticeable, unless you look at the tank just right. But it's there and it pisses me off at how stupid I am :loser: . Is rubbing compound the answer?
