  1. So I've been thinking. You know those kick ass low center exhausts on the new GSXRs? What if I wanted to put one on the Bird? Two Bros and Micron are making slip-ons and my question is, if the inlet/outlets match up and I can make everything fit; is there any reason that cannister would F anything up more than any other? Is there somekind of MAJOR difference between cannister internals that couldn't be sorted out on a PC? Granted, I haven't gone too far into investigating, so this may be an impossible dream at this point. Thoughts? Am I making sense here? Furious
  2. I bought mine from indysuperbikes.com. I can't remember how much, but I'm sure I paid too much. :icon_shhh:
  3. I guess they didn't figure they'd need to develop a product to keep the engine cool when it's freezing outside. :icon_doh:
  4. You are correct it is not. Unfortunately most track day orgs do not allow Engine Ice or Evans type coolants anymore. If it's not all season, which seasons does it not perform in?
  5. I'm using the stock tuning that came with the PCIII. I haven't bothered to try and retune it because I'm trying to get some aftermarket pipes set up - so I'm trying to avoid tuning it twice. I haven't heard anything negative about the stock tuning - does someone know about this being an issue?
  6. Since I added the PCIII to the Bird she has been running much hotter. I buddy of mine with a new VFR said that he used Water Wetter and his temps greatly improved. I added the prescribed amount last night and rode to work this morning. I would guess the temperature outside is close to 70 and I have about a 4 mile ride to work, the temp still hit 209. I'm wondering if it needs more time to circulated through the system? Anyone else use this stuff? Furious
  7. Mine said 160 on it too. I included a note when I sent mine in so that they hopefully won't screw it up.
  8. +1 on the Sport Demons. I've been running them on my wife's 500R for the last year. Great Tires.
  9. I am trying to remove the cans off my two-bros shotgun system. I can't get them to budge and I don't want to mess around and break'em. Anybody have any ideas?
  10. Thanks for the helpful replies. Oil purchased, Oil changed (First time changing the Bird). The caster oil seems to make the bird run smoother :icon_think:
  11. I got my PCIII and K&N from them. Very quick, reasonably priced. :icon_thumbsup:
  12. I never can remember the owner's manual recommended oil weight for the Bird. Somebody help me out real quick. Danke, Furious
  13. +1 That thing sounds SAweet. :icon_thumbsup:
  14. Got one last year and highly recommend. Build quality is excellent and it gets a lot of crap out of your way. Thought I'd put in my two cents.
  15. Byrdman's setup is exactly what I was thinking about visually, but I have the same questions as a lot of you with regard to sound, passenger comfort, and how the engine responds to it. I think it's awesome just to know that it can and HAS been done. Byrdman, post more details!
  16. I'm sure most of you have seen the underbody exhaust that Kaw is using on their new 650. Has anyone thought of trying this approach with the Bird? I'm not an exhaust expert, obviously. It just seems that a lot of people are interested in underseat. If you're going to go to the trouble, it seems like it would be easier to to fit something directly under the body. I would think that it would be even better positioned with consideration to handling. Any thoughts on this? Has anyone tried it?
  17. I'm interested, but when is the buy going to happen? I'm out of the country on Friday for pretty much the rest of the month, can I get an idea of the timing?
  18. I just ran with the preloaded program for now, haven't gotten around to exploring it too much. Only change to the bike is JRed's PV removal kit.
  19. I just installed a PCIII on my Bird and I have to say that it does make a very noticable difference. When I took it out for a test run the other night I think I fell a little more in love with the bike. I DID notice that the Bird seemed to run hotter in town when I was observing the speed limit a little more closely. Has anyone else noticed an increase in temperature or was my Bird angry cause I was making it go soo sloooow? Thanks, Furious
  20. I'm getting my two-bros shotgun system jet-hot coated. I'm doing it mostly for looks because the gold tint was starting to wear away. I'd have to go back and double check but I think they quoted about 175.
  21. Well, that seems to make sense :-k Thanks.
  22. This will probably help out a bit Picked this off the mototeck web site.
  23. After removing my pair system, I've noticed that after quick, hard acceleration I'm smelling gas. I'm only noticing it at a stop, like when I hammer up my street to the stop sign. My question is, does it sound like I'm running rich or does it sound like I didn't tighten everything properly after the pair removal? I thought I triple checked everything, but you never know. Comments or ideas are appreciated. Thanks, Furious
  24. Check this out. http://www.honda.co.uk/mcstatic/en/product...e/cbr1100xx.pdf Furious
  25. Everything has been put back together with no spare parts, thank God. I fired it up and got it out for a spirited run on the nearby highways and side-streets. Everything seems to be in good working order. I can definitely feel a difference with the spacer in. The bike feels a bit lighter and easier slaloming my way through city traffic. Every bit worth the effort and the 6 bucks. I'm pretty sure the PAIR valve removal kit has added at least 30 horsepower to the bike, so I can highly recommend that as well  Seriously, that plus some racing stickers and I'll be well above 200 hp. In all honesty, the kit worked out great. It got rid of and covered everything it was supposed to and looks damn nice if you're inclinced to prop the tank up on occasion. Sorry I didn't take any pics of the install, but there wasn't much to shoot that I haven't already seen pics of. Furious
