  1. Michelin Pilot Road - 180/55 ZR 17

Bought it new last spring. Never mounted it.

Never used up the rubber I had mounted last year.

I only put on 1,500 miles in '07 = grrrr.

Anyway - I want to get this to someone who can use it before it gets stale.

$100 + actual shipping costs (UPS Store?) - I'll need to get a quote for your ZIP before payment.

    US res. only, please.

paypal preferred or cash if you are local to Madison, WI.

I'll run around a little to hook up if you're in the area, save shipping!

    thankx

  2. In my experience, I thought the stock forks were very soft and I could almost bottom out under heavy breaking.

I got racetech springs and valves and heavier oil. I also added the preload adjusters. It was worth the money! I ride the bird in a sporty-touring fasion - even did a trackday last month. The new fork work was great.

next I will be adding the rear shim and someday a rear shock...but the front to was paramount to "fix"

  3. As far as road racing N/A engines 4&6 cycles are popular around here

I saw a fork rebuild for a racer here from them.....VERY scarry. missing internal parts, diff. springs in each tube, lucky my rider didn't crash because of it. (Cheddar Mafia Race team)

I have heard some good things about 4&6, SuperDave Rosno uses them...and has an excellent race bike by them. But, he uses them all the time and is a long-time customer.

    just my $.02 - good & bad.

  4. I gotta give a big THANKS" :icon_clap: to Hobicus for helping out !!! I was really freaked that I would need a complete rebuild or something...I was guessing $100's.

They feel 'Good as New' again.

I would like to put in a little reminder, too.

When putting the forks back in, remember to set the height of each fork equally above the upper tripple. if you are off...say....1-2mm on one of them, the ride home will be a little wierd. it will feel like the bike is tracking to one side...ever so slightly - a gentle pull/lean to one side. :icon_duh:

A simple 'oversight' can cause this, but it is easily corrected.

I now need to add a name to the "What's Spoot gonna get you for Christmas" list.

  5. Sorry if there is another thread about this, but my internet has/is down and posting from a friends place.

On a ride saturday, I started to feel a "twitchy" front end. Also, when I hit the brakes (stock forks) it no longer dived like stockers normally do. I hit some little bumps and it felt like I was driving over bricks.

I don't see any fork oil leaking...? Dust covers are dry. It feels like I'm driving on a flat tire, but the tire pressure is fine. Forks move, but doesn't seem to be as much. Just nothing left.

With my internet down, I've got some scambling to do to get this going by WiXX.

I'll check here when I can, any input is of course appreciated.

Someone suggested that I may have popped/broke a vavle...or something else internal?

  6. I got a little over 4k on the D220/rear & 6k+ front. When they are good and warm, they held good - never dragging a peg or anything...

If it was below 65° they could get just a little slippery.

I am going to try the Powers this year and stop being so ham-fisted in first gear :icon_liar:
