  1. For Sale: 2002 Left Cowl Silver; good condition, no broken tabs, no structure damage and interior padding like new. $95 plus actual shipping costs or make offer, I have good shipping materials ready to go including heavy duty box, air packing bubbles and soft foam.

I bought this as backup used off eBay (never used it) when I was still riding due to my highly entertaining 5-0 mph tipovers :icon_nono: and my inconsistent ability to fully deploy sidestand :icon_doh: as cheap insurance vs oem new.

Two scuff marks (as seen in pics):

    1. Black Mark (3:00 o'clock of tranny case hole), not sure what caused it, but no structure damage.

    2. Brushed Mark (8:30 o'clock of tranny case hole), looks like very fine sandpaper or steel wool was brushed against just the edge, again no structure damage. This is NOT a light spot or reflection.

Older iPhone was used for pics inside under skylight and ceiling projection lights, so there are several light spots and reflections (except #2 noted above).

  2. Pictures?

Won't have pictures until the weekend, the bike is in storage. Asking $6900.

I'd rather interested parties look at the bike in person.

bhanxx has seen the bike somewhat recently, though I don't know if he's been too active on the group lately.

hey, i've been healing up since getting my nuts re-arranged :icon_evilgrin: . i picked the right spring to be bikeless and laid up, this MN spring weather has been shit. Going back to work May 5 and get to wear sweat pants :icon_whistle: for a few weeks to finish up healing.

Mark's XX was in great shape and he treated it great. I would be on it like a rat on a cheeto, except i'm tarketing a ST1300ABS to replace my wadded up XX.

  3. If you are referring to the ref# 37 Duct R. Ram (64212-D50 or 64212-D51, not sure which i have) on link below, then the answer is yes. It's off my '02 XX that i wadded up coming home from OzarXX last year. It was some of the XX parts that were sheared off by that damn mileage marker that jumped in front of me :icon_rolleyes: . I will throw in the Missouri dirt for no extra charge! Other than dirt it looks to be in good shape. Reply or PM me if interested.

  4. I just fitted a Power to the front and a dual compound Pilot Road 2 to the rear. I have not ridden far enough to comment on the combo yet but wondered as I have not seen mention of the Road 2 on this site.

Are they being sold in your area yet? They are in plentiful supply in Aus.

:icon_rolleyes: Again we get screwed in the states...

  5. Stupid question, but how do u change just the filter w/o draining the oil? :icon_wall:

I run Rotella 5w-40 / Purlator Pure 1 14610 changing both every 5k, oil comes out virtually new and i swear to god the oil level is above the high water mark when i check it b4 draining (only time i check oil level).

Should I check oil level more often on this POS Honda?

  6. I don't NEED to run the Hellas full time, just wanted more visibility to oncoming traffic during the day and better lighting overall at night (especially when leaned over)...

I'm rigged with HID low beam and Signal Dynamics Modulator rigged to oem high beam, works great. I have headlight adjusted up just a bit (haven't been flashed). The HID is fantastic at night, huge improvement. During the day i run high beam (modulating) and of course HID is on too. The modulating yellowish tint high beam under the HID low beam makes you really stand out big time.

Plus, i came across some switched 20W fog lights i use for conspicuity that i have mounted under the front fender. These take way less juice to run (than 55W) plus are very conspicious (don't do shit for seeing road better, do help a bit in slow corners). They small, lightweight and ez to mount. I run these all the time except in stop'n'go traffic. Eagle Eye 20W (2nd set of lights)

Other things i've done for conspicuity:

    1. Replaced front amber side reflectors with amber 12-LED units w same shape and size. This works great at night, does little during day. I commute daily very early in the morning (dark) on freeways and these really help cagers see u from side.

    2. Installed red 4-LED unit on sides (under red lens, looks oem) of Givi E52. Major improvement in conspicuity from side and rear angles.

    3. Replaced cheap Givi brake lights (broke) w 24-LED units and wired as running/brake lights, woohoo, oh yeah baby :icon_dance: . This is a big bang for the $ improvement.

    4. Mounted Signal Dignamics 24-LED Light Bar on top of Givi E52 as running/brake light.

    5. Installed Electrical Connection Turn Signal Conversion Kit. It turns your rear turn signals into a fully integrated 12-LED red running/brake lights and oem amber turn signals. Really slick design, fully legal and ez to install. Little trendy in $, but really work nice. Linky

    6. Still need to replace oem brake lights with 25-LED ones...

Since i install these my incidents w cagers has been reduced dramatically, but there are still a few galactically stupid cagers out there that just don't get it :icon_doh:

I have a switch bar (poor man's version to Warchild's C.U.N.T) to control modulator, fog lights, chain oiler and heated grips for ECM (Electronic Control Management). Running heated grips and fog lights is starting to overload the XX alt.

  7. Not at a long stoplight at idle or worse, stop'n'go traffic...

    Don't ask how i know this :icon_doh:

Make sure u have on/off switches for each device and voltmeter (i use 8500 built in meter) to do XXVLCMMM (alias XX Voltage Load Control Manual Management Monitoring), a winger she is NOT, but a fast wench :icon_dance: ...

  8. WhiteBuffaloRacing

SS Fronts only, great improvement for initial bite and power...

I like a soft rear (brake that is), less chance of lockup during those cager-induced adrenlin rushes...

Plus it's gets expensive (and a real PITA to install) for entire LBS system for what sounds like a marginal improvement over just fronts.

  9. Unless someone absolutly beats the crap out of the XX, it should last 200,000 miles plus. With normal oil/filter change of course. I have a 99 VFR with 263,000 miles on it and a 97 Vmax with 132,000 miles and both run like new. My newly aquired 99 XX is the "baby" of the bunch with only 43,000.

:icon_shhh: on the 200k, i told the el presidente the XX would be on 'er last legs @50k and have to go into semi-retirement (from commuting) and used for only weekends. I've got clearance on the GTR1400 (unless Honda pulls it head outta it's ass) to be her stablemate and take over the commuting duties. I pointed out the commuter essentials in MN riding conditions such as the adjustable windshield, bigger fairing, panniers, shaft drive, ... :icon_doh: Gawd, I'm Shameless...

  10. Just looking to see who else is running this system on their Bird, Mines an 01, and after installing it, I noticed my mileage drop/ running rich.

Put a PCIII on , really good power, but still bad mileage. Anyone else have this problem?

    Thanks :icon_doh:

'02, full yoshi, k&n, pcIII here...

Can outer tip ring has coating of black (cleaned annually), my stock oem setup had about the same coating.

Don't check mpg (but then again i didn't buy it for mpg), but gut feel is down a couple, but probably due more to riding yoshi flavor harder at higher rpm. Ya gotta luv that tune when she's on da hump :icon_dance:

For reference, I got 199.8 miles (including coasting distance to a complete stop) on the one tank that i did check :icon_doh:
