  1. Bear, with your snow load, you may want to add an additional collar tie at the first rafter in, and add a backup to the outside rafter tie. The snow load over time will push the posts away from each other at the top, and you will see the decorative collar tie joints open up. A large dump of snow from the upper roof could damage the porch roof too.

  2. Put the Buell pegs on I and was able to adjust the brake lever all the way up to put it in position. My left foot rests against the sidestand and pushes it away from the shifter. I don't really want to cut, bend and re-weld the sidestand (but if I have to. . .), nor do I want to space it down so it is away from the peg. Any solutions?

I like the feel of the lowered pegs, but I think I will put the stockers back on if it takes too much demo work to fix.

  3. What about OSB...? Then you can make a man-garage easier and install things all over the walls not always needing a stud.

OSB will work, and it's heavy duty. Drywall has better fire resistive qualities, especially if you paint and tape. Paint it the brightest white you can. Helps to brighten up a shop that normally has poor lighting. Spend the money and do the insulation.

  4. Usually only when I can't scrub of the shit stains from the splatter underneath :icon_eek:

Most folks change them out when they move into a pre-owned house, then whenever the wife changes decor. I have done remodels on houses with 40 year old toilet seats.
