What year?
2005, so first generation, with ABS.
Loving it, not quite blackbird power, but close. More comfy though.
You got one, no?

Holy fuck. I was thinking about you 2 days ago. Man, I miss you.
Thanks Philip (I hope I remembered your name correctly). I miss y'all too (mostly). After a few years off, I'm back - FJR1300. Hope to see some of y'all soon.
Best

I have a set of WWII shearling lined bomber pants I used to wear while riding in the winter. Think post-war biker gang chic. They are kind of "melted", like when leather gets too hot, from my knees being to close to the heads on my CB650C. I wouldn't know how to price them. ...probably not what you're looking for anyway.
Thanks for the offer, but, yes, the pants are different than what I'm looking for. They are cool though, well figuratively.
Agreed that a 2000 XX would be great bar-back, but I've already picked out a '71 Honda CL350 for a house bike.- 1

I'm decorating my new home and need several beat-to-shit leather motorcycle jackets to hang on the walls (yes, I'm single). The ideal jacket will have extreme road rash, parts forcibly removed, blood stains, and smell like gas, oil and/or burnt rubber. I'll pay extra for Bates or Vanson jackets. Jacked up leather pants, mangled helmets, fucked up gloves, useless boots and rashed-up plastics also considered.
Thank You, Matt
P.S. Yes, It's been awhile. I missed you too.

Well the market has spoken, or not spoken. As in, I still have the bike. Clearly I was asking too much.
Bump for new price - $12,250.
-
It's got two wheels.
Bump, and good luck with the sale, Matt. That's a sharp looking ride.
Damn, it is real. I figured it was photoshoped. Thanks for the update.

I still want the one in your avatar.
I see what you did there. "One" as in one wheel, no?

Asking $12,250. This motorcycle was purchased new in October 2009 from Morton's BMW in Fredericksburg VA, for just over $15K. Current mileage is 109 miles; it truly is in new condition. Circumstances have changed, so the motorcyle is being sold. As you would expect for such a new bike, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this motorcycle, no scratches, no dents, no issues whatsoever. It has never been wrecked, never dropped, never abused, not modified (except some add ons, see below). I have every document that was sold with the motorcycle, which will be transferred to the buyer.
This bike has several useful extras:
* BMW Advantage Warranty (3 years/ 36K miles, with roadside assistance)
* BMW heated grips
* BMW ABS Brakes
* BMW Center Stand
* BMW On Board Computer
* BMW Clear Lenses (Taillight and Turn Signals)
* BMW Bash Plate
* Akrapovik Titanium and Carbon Fiber Muffler
* SW MoTech Engine Guards
* TouraTech Tailrack
Here is a link to an online album with 30+ photos of the bike.
I am very particular about payment for this motorcycle. First, I won't finance the buyer. Sorry. If you pay with a personal check or a cashier's check I will not release the title or motorcycle until the check clears your bank. Not wishing to sound rude, I'm trying to avoid being scammed.
Thank You,
Matt
Sorry I haven't been around much. After work, family, school and travel there ain't much screw-around-on-the-internet time left.

Matt, you should post this on the WERA and NESBA forums if you haven't already. Those guys are less concerned with aesthetics, this is perfect for that crowd.
Agreed. Thank you. As soon as I recover my username / password on those boards I'm gonna do that. Or just start a new account.

Bump for new price - $1650.

Not to be a wiseass... but there's no such thing as a 96 F2. Is it an F3?? I ask because I have a bunch of F3 race parts left - might make me more interested.
Damn, you're right. It's just a wee bit embarrassing not knowing the model of one's own motorcycle. Thanks for letting me know. I'll correct the post.
If you are interested, I'm not too far away.

For Sale: 1996 Honda CBR600F3 7,3xx miles. Clean Title, Street Legal, Track Ready, Lots of Extras $1650
Background:
I bought this bike at an insurance auction as a theft recovery. It has a clean title, in my name, and a current Virginia registration. There are no problems with the legality of the title or registration. I've used for two track days. Now I no longer have the time or interest. If you are looking for a cheap street bike that is also track ready, strongly consider this motorcycle.
This is a seriously ugly motorcycle, it has been spray painted, and has road rash. Check the photos. However is has low miles and is mechanically sound. I've included lots of extras, mostly track type stuff. The bike is located near Charlottesville VA. For a fee, I can deliver within a limited radius.
Extras:
upper & lower race plastics
left and right clip ons.
left and right engine covers
left and right foot pegs and controls
left and right levers
tail light
front brake master cylinder
rear brake assembly
brand new, never used EBC kevlar clutch kit (disks & springs)
set of Diablo Supercorsa tires (use one track day)
new rear dunlop qualifier
Missing:
front fender
inner chin cowl (in front of exhaust headers)
Edit: Price reduced to $1650.

On the day of my daughter's wedding you come to me with these falken tires

Pat, I understand and agree with what your saying. Still I would have tried to get my money back. The company still has an obligation to accurately describe their product.Closeout items BikeBandit.com does not accept returns of items purchased on closeout.Doesn't make it right, doesn't make it wrong, but it is there on their webpage.

I can't blame you for thinking that, but no, just busy with other crap.Gave up did ya?Anyhow, I do have some progress to report.
I finally finished mudding and sanding the entertainment center. Here it is primed and painted. The next step will be adding hardwood shelves and trim.
Finished mudding and sanding the bar as well. Also installed the tile floor and built the inside cabinets. Countertops will be done next.
Drywall, paint and tile are done. Installing baseboards and fixtures will be next.
In the bathroom, my wife has gotten a little ahead of herself and put up decorations.

Zero,Stupid question in 3.....2......1.....Why is the key secured with what appears to be the largest zip tie known to man, to aforementioned handlebars?:icon_think:
If it's your only key, it'd be a bitch to lose it.
As usual, you have no idea what you're talking about. You may not know this, but you are not required to answer every question. In fact, if you're clueless it's better if you don't reply.
Anyho.....
That bike is at a salvage yard, waiting to be auctioned. Till it's sold, the yard desires the key to remain with the bike, pretty much what Pat said.

Hmm....
My track bike is a properly ghettoed F3, with a rashed, dented and rusted muffler.
I'm tempted but it's almost too nice for my track bike.

Socialist! Who do think that money is coming from? Rich taxpayers, that's who.I qualified for a $7500.00 tax credit !!It might not matter, but you installed the backer board 90 degrees off. The taped, recessed edges of the sheets should butt against each other to make a horizontal joint. The recessed edges are to accommodate the mesh tape and mortar. Otherwise there will be a bulge when you tape/mortar the joints. And if you install the backer board horizontally you would have had much few joints.
Lots of joints, Horizontal joints not recessed, creates bulges when taped/mortared.
Compare that to this installation:
-
If you install them backwards, the sound you describe will happen. Ask me how I know.
This is pretty much what RedBird is saying.
-
Here's a couple items I remember from my racetech installation:
1. Use 1000 then 2000 grit sandpaper to polish the damper rod.
2. Polish the valve faces with 2000 grit sandpaper. This helps ensure a nice, tight seal against the shims
3. Use a steel washer on the top of the spacer, this prevents the steel spacer from digging into the aluminum fork cap, which results in tiny aluminum shavings in the fork oil. Ever notice how used fork oil looks like it contains metal flakes?
4. If cutting the spacer, use a tube cutter. This makes nice square cuts.
5. You'll need a #54 drill bit to drill a hole in one of the valve orifices. I think that's the right size.
6. Fork oil weights differ substantially by manufacture. Not too long ago, I think BADZ_XX posted a link to good article about this.

Sorry oh great furry one, everything has been sold. I'll update the first post.

......waiting........
I know, I know. Can you believe how slow I am? Still muddin' & sanding, sorry. However the drywall in the bathroom is done. The wife primed it last night. She'll likely paint it sometime this week. Then I'll tile the floor and shower.

Probably not. If I put a remanufactured engine in the truck, I'd have ~ $2200 in it. For that much, I could probably buy a running 97 F150. So if I do this, I'd get a used engine, or rebuild it myself. Either way is several weekends of work and several hundred dollars.. Hmmmm.......Is a $400 1997 truck worth a reman engine? Maybe a used one? Then install updated gaskets before you put it in.
