  1. Ok - this ones not a $100 bike - let me get that out of the way now lol

2013 Moto Guzzi Stelvio - 23003 miles on it. 0 miles since forks rebuild, brake flush and pads. Bike seems to run and shift well. Clear title.

The problem? Its a 2013 Stelvio. They arent pretty and they arent particulary desirable. I could sell this and make some money - but its gonna take time and I'd rather just flip out of it.

    - Last one to pass through auction brought $3950 - 5/19/24

    - Rough TRADE blue book is $4100

To the board before I ship it off to auction and pay auction fees $2500

Good stuff Scott.  I word of advise about weight lifting as you age, be sure to work up slowly.  Once I hit 60, had a warning sign trying to push more than I should have while bench pressing even though I have been doing it most of my life.  It scared me enough that I have become content with moderate weight.

Yeah - I hear that. I really struggled with this on the bench press goal. Was not expecting that one to be the hardest. I did it to say I did it - but most chest days I do 155 or 175 and focus good form and clean reps.

  3. I posted a good while ago about my goal to be in the best condition of my life when I turn 50 this November. At age 48 and flirting with 260lbs - I set myself some fitness and weight goals.

1- Being able to run a continuous mile in under 10 mins (I used to be a good long distance runner - but hadnt been able to run without serious pain in almost a decade)

    2- Bench press my bodyweight

3- Be able to do pull up cold with good form

4- Squatting my body weight (sets of 5)

    5- body weight under 200lbs

None of these are earth shattering Olympic level target - but when I set these bench marks more than 2 years ago I was a long way from being able to hit any of them. I still cant for the life of me get under 200lbs - I hover about 205 but body comp keeps moving - body fat coming down, muscle coming up. For reference I was wearing 38 jeans and might well have needed bigger. Now I'm wearing 34 inch jeans with a belt - and have bought some 32's.  I still struggle with the bench press - but more because of my shoulder rebuild than lack of strength.

So with 50 fast approaching and my goals essentially achieved I decided to enter 3 events to celebrate.

1 - a "Lazyman" Triathlon. Its a full length triathlon but you get a whole month to do it. Thats happening right now (July). Again - not Olympic level but still a lot. This week I have done 50 mile bike ride, 10 miles running (sub 10 pace!) and 2000M swim - and I'm still keeping up my normal workout routines-ish.

2- In September my gym holds a challenge. Using a "Jacobs Ladder" aka mountain climber the competition is to climb the height of Mt Everest (29k feet). Technically just completing the climb in a month completes the challenge - but there is some bragging rights and prizes for the 1st 5 to complete it. I aim to be in that group.

3-In November, just after my birthday, theres a 10k charity run I have entered. I'm setting myself the goal of running it - and doing it in less than an hour (6.2mph / 9:40 mile pace)

Fuck turning 50. Lets do this!

Once again the mighty .org has brought a huge smile and two wheels to someone without. Middle son helped me unload it in Gardiner and promptly rode it around the block, All GRINS! His BMW has been down for a year or so, 180K, it will be retired.

    Thank You Scott!

Next trip thru I'll bring a case of Cold Smoke for the crew, did not have time to source it this trip.

    Fabulous Dealership BTW.

Thanks man. Nice to meet you. Hope that bike serves your son well.

I think I've got a deal working for the next one of these lol

  5. My shipper is mostly a Pac NW guy. He'll go to California for me but so far wont go much each past Wyoming.

Bike will absolutely move under its own power. It actually seems to run pretty decent. The clutch is its biggest hang up - literally. Its notchy AF and dis-engages-ish. I'm sure its gonna need a basket and all. Brakes are thin and need at least a good flush but do have pressure.

I seriously considered taking this home myself. I couldnt build the forks but a lot of the rest I could do and I could give its DaveK-esque detail. Reality is its a save-able unique-ish bike but not an investment piece - and I still have my R1200RS. You'll put 1-2k in it to have a bike not worth a lot more than that. Idk - maybe its a part out project for someone but I'd kinda hate that.

I am an Aprillia dealer so if part are available I can order them for you and stick them in the bags at shipping. Yes - I can store here or at my place. I wont be back in Denver till mid May but if theres a shipping terminal thats cheaper I can try and get it there when I go home.

  6. Like an older stray dog.. I have an older stray 2002 Caponord that needs saved from being put down.

2002. Silver. 44k miles. Givi top case, Leo V exhaust. New tires. Clean title.

Runs. Shifts. Needs a whole clutch, needs fork seals. General loving. A squeeky ball and a bed to sleep on.

Its not busted up but its aged - faded dash and all that.

Took it on trade but didnt want to lol. Not worth fixing up from a dealership point of view (think labor costs). But its not entirely worthless. If I send it to auction Im not sure I'd recoup my shipping costs after auction fees and all.

Will take any offer over $100. Tax and titling are your concern (does have clean, clear, signed title). Can deliver to Denver to maybe SLC on one of my trips home.

    Pics to follow.

Someone was asking after the lift table the blackbird is on.  It's from HMC Industries, a US based company.  I saw them @ the Aprilia dealer and they said they were a quality piece.  This lifts the Blackbird with only 75# of air pressure.  You can get cheaper, but a lift failure will endanger you, your bike, and other vehicles in the garage.  Buying quality is a small price to pay for peace of mind.  Also, I like to buy American when possible,

Same lifts we use in my shop except a front wheel punch.
