  1. Skipped ahead to fruits. Yep....I eat grapes, apples and oranges....no, no, no. Nuts are okay....good, I like cashews...oh wait, not so much on the cashews. Burnt again.

Somebody told me the "Caveman" diet.....just like them good ole pre-history times.

    More reading to ensue.

Incidentally....my sugar exploration and eating. Diabetic and related heart.  Fasting blood sugar reading should be in the 80's (no idea what that means). I read the meter that sips on a drop of blood. Then after eating, the second reading, which tells the effect of your meal. Book says shouldn't peak any higher than 140 to 145.

Chinese... I was good on first reading. 1 hour later after take-out Chinee, the reading was 200. Oops, no more Chinee!

I do enjoy salmon on occasion.  On the nutritional scale it's at the very top from the animal products.

Now we need a low-carb fried centipede recipe.

I enjoy salmon as well.....now to the centipede recipe....that's a no go.....itz fried!

Thanks for the link on diabetic eats......doc gave me a book to read on diet. Surprisingly, I'm not too far off. Never one for sweets and desserts. Don't use salt as I figure enuff in processed food already.

I have cut back on portions. No more seconds and the red meat is to be no bigger than a deck of cards.

  3. It be the sugar/diabetic discovery. Anything white is out.....potatoes, obviously white sugar...well, sugar anyway.....if I ate it, it is no longer a welcome addition to my diet or my menu.

Dietician said the more legs it has.....the more it's not to be eaten....fish -no legs. Ok for consumption.👨‍🍳

  4. Ok, I'm home now. Last three weeks with three visits to hospital (scheduled). I'm on a first name basis with hospital staff at reception and sign-in stations. For instance,  Deb is a Vegan....not alien Vegan, but diet type.  Her husband is in Texas doing construction work. Her son is an Air Force "spook" - there goes his clearance now, right? Stationed in Japan....that speaks volumes I guess, to me.

Double hernia and coordination with Cardiologist on upcoming surgery. She had interceded, interjected, interrupted and postponed surgery until today. That's ok, better safe than sorry, right? It was for visits to hospital for tests then, too, run to the doctor's office to discuss test results, yadda, yadda .....guessing she (she is a Filapeena) wanted to be sure I would make it thru the hernia ops....🤕

Given the past surgeries vs today's escapade.....this was the most painful. I actually took pain medication for the after effects (or should that be affects? Carlos?!!?) on this one. The past open heart surgery was a breeze for me".....no stents could be used here...although not an in and out deal like today's event. Smiling as I got several comments on the bevy of nurses and techs with a doctor or two thrown in, hovering around. It took 5 hours from today's report in, to my release and sent home. Slow moving for now. No driving, they said. So I presume no motorcycle outings then?......OH, NO, was the chorus reply!

At home it is a "Barricade" constructed to keep my two canine buddies at distance. I'll prollee live-sleep in the recliner for the next few days. The industrious black lab has already probed for weak spots. 😏

I got most of the yard mowed a few days ago, and contracted for further mowings....not sure how long I'll be laid up.

Momma is/has notified the family members re: so I am letting the rest of the world know.

    Later.

Doing well, toodles. Feeling good, but then it was a rather large pain pill.

  5. Two more auctions.....Colt snake guns. There were 6 in one guy's collection and 4 in the other auction......bringing a low of 2 grand to high of 4 grand.

Marlins are climbing in price, and these didn't have the JM stamp.

Learned about a German single shot 12 ga., Mauser Geha. They were passed out to German citizens so they could shoot the pigeons. Allies used homing pigeons to send messages back to headquarters (?).

i suppose a dinner of "squab" was of a secondary benefit.

  6. Ok, resting a bit.....6 auctions in a week.  The 630 plus guns listed above.......I thought prices were high. One rifle brought $8000.00! Yes, one rifle. I know there are some out there commanding 5 figures, but they ain't usually at auctions I attend.

This last auction I attended, seemed to be a better bit of pricing.  The link shows sold for.....that amount is the winning bid, plus 10% buyer's premium and sales tax (auction on the auction house premise means, store and they charge sales tax). They will ship long guns out of state (you pay)....FFL paperwork was involved (Kaufman's seem to want to check off all the boxes on their sales).

A whole bunch of items are headed to Georgia, the US state, not former ussr.   Bidder #100. He buys a lot.....the first sixty items sold this auction and 53 were bidder #100. I may have mentioned him before.....

    https://bid.kaufman-auctions.com/auctions/catalog/id/30581/

The two SKS rifles, one was Russian made, neither had matching numbers......managed to get a good price in spite of not having matching numbers.

  7. Correcting myself....the 1000 rds of .556 at $575.00, I thought was way over priced. Today I ran around some of the shops...first stop was 1000 rds at $799.99. The second place had them marked at $899.99, but no limit. You could buy as many boxes as you wanted (yeah, at $899.99). My final stop for the afternoon....790 rds for $760 (?), but ya got a ammo can....

  8. Today I learned.....scratching your head means you bid a thousand $ on a Remington 700 BDL in .308 cal.

it got resolved and sold two bids later. 🙄

Somewhere I heard that today a guy sold a brick of cheapo .22LR for $100 and 30 rounds of 30-30 reloads for $50.  I He wasn't even trying to sell it, the guy damn near begged to buy it.  Last week that same guy traded some 9mm reloads for a bottle of Blantan's.  Turns out, ammo is currency, even pre-apocalypse.

You forgot toilet paper. That will command in trades.

  9. I watched a young Amish guy carrying his 3 cases of .556. AR' s...truly a farmer's rifle. Lotsa varmits need to be taken care of. 😃

Last auction tammarah......so far I've not been lucky to win a bid. CheyTac went for just under new $. I missed the Colt Python. I was thinking on it, but with the prices things were bringing....I also figured no for a cheap buy. The prices that the guns are bringing will keep me out. Today, a Winchester 42, .410, pigeon grade brought $8000.00. I lusted after a matched set of shotties in a leather covered hard case.

    Ammo......sold for: 150 rds, of 9mm, 115 gr., 3 boxes -$65...ammo sold in lots, not each. $65 divided by 3 then. 250 rds of Winchester .556, 62 gr @ $130. 300 rds. 115 gr. 9mm @ $150. Some lots were a single box.

    Ya get the idea.

  10. Latest: I see collector selling off his guns....5 auctions to do it. Anyone interested? Feb. 17, 18, 19. Some dbl'd sales on one day.

Try: David Miller (330) 473-3430, Nelson Weaver (330) 763-4855. Ads show online as well, go to www.proxibid.com. Notes 7% buyer's premium. No FFL, unless you are out of state...then go thru background check......shipping costs etc...ship to FFL dealer by you ( and $ chgd. ).

Then too, maybe the good ole AuctionZip, may have the listing.

On Thurs., 02/24....Kaufman Realty and Auctions, 3:30PM, starting with ammo. Online bidding for guns at 5PM. Complete list and pics available at www.kaufman-auctions.com.

  11. Smiling.....just saw an auction held yesterday...cruised the results. Saw a coupla my .45ACP's that I had sold with the same Auctioneer. So these two resurfaced and the Tasco scoped .45 brought $66.25 more than my auction brought.  Plus the American Tactical....uh, made in the Philippines...😜

This be like stocks and bonds...playing the field?

    That is all.
