I think it's time for a trip to Jbo's! Looks awesome.. now you just need to grow some grass on that dirt
-
Let me see if I can edit the config by hand and change that. It'll be a low priority item, but I'm sure I can figure something out.
-
If you replaced the battery and it works, well then I'd say you fixed it. I don't quite understand...
-
It is how they were imported. I can change them, but if I do the order that they appear in the avatar popup will change...
-
Just becuase it has voltage dosent mean that it is providing any current...
-
I don't wear gear and my bike always starts.
-
+1 on the valves, both the CBR and my VFR were checked before I bought them ( the CBR had 18k at the time, and the VFR at 35k ) and both were perfectly in spec.
-
No it's NOT normal....
For airbuses to run off the end of the runway.
Well...they are French!
-
The simple answer is Yes. So, Yes.

I believe that knock knock sound you hear is the clutch plates, and it's very normal.
You'll notice it goes away when you put it in gear.
I have always had that sound, which goes away with you throw it in gear or pull the clutch in, however the knock im talking about is in the bottom of the engine only when its hot. Its very different from the clutch plates/springs. As someone else said, it almost sounds like a rod knocking. Its not very loud, but you can hear it - only happens when the bike gets very warm ( above half, three quarters the way up the temp gauge )

Use your photo gallery to upload and link them, you cant link to ImageStation remotely.

Jbow,
If you engine makes that 'knock knock knock noise' at idle when its hot I assume thats normal, as mine does the same thing. Its not actually the engine knocking I don't believe. If you put your ear on the right side ( if your sitting on the bike ) towards the bottom of the engine you can hear it. I think it just has to do w/ the oil thinning out so much when tis 100+ here in AZ that you can hear it. Almost sounds like a cam knock...

Hey Techno and KA,
I thought my fuel light was broken when I got my 99 Bird but it works. That needle gets below the line quite a ways before the light starts to flicker. When it glows at a steady speed, I've got 30-40 miles left. I usually reset my trip meter so I don't run out. Of course I won't get into why I reset now.
Thanks, I've never let the light come on... I'm too scared. :?

It depends on how badly its mared. Both the bird and my VFR have small grooves, but when I bought the blackbird it had some very big grooves in the rear rotor. I replaced it as soon as I saw it, I believe I paid $125 for the rear rotor online at a motorcycle salvage shop. It was off a 03 w/ 2800 miles I bleieve actually. In fact, it was my first post to the forum! ( Would a 01 rear rotor fit a 97 )

This thread opens the discussion for my question now...
How low does the needle get before the low fuel light goes on? I think mine is broken, but I've never had the guts to test it. My needle is usually below the E line and the light still has not come on. I'm assuming it broken, but perhaps the bike goes another 50 miles once its on E?

Mine is made of dried semen.
.. the real question is who's semen?

I've got a easier fix. Get a wireless security camera.
+1
Check out the X10 site. They have tons of wireless and hidden cameras for home "monitoring" 8)
Rich
You should go to www.systm.org and download episode 1 and watch what they did with those wireless X10 cameras...

I bet these UK bird owners are laughing at us..
"Dumb fuckers cant convert mm to cm! All ya gotta do is move the freakin decamil place!"
-
Work yourself up a good dump and study
lol, great advice.. New QOTW time!
-
I've got the Motion Pro chain rivet tool, worked great! Picked it up locally at Cyclegear.
-
I've got 208's on the bird right now. I havent tried anything else, and because the front didnt need to be replaced yet I just stuck with the Dunlops for the rear until the front is in need of replacing.
Technodad has been quite pleased with the Metzlers on the Magna and Shadow over the stockers. But they're not cheap!
-
I've just done my tires at Cyclegear. Pull the wheel off and run it over to them, they charge ya $20 to remove the tire and dispose of the old. Frankly its worth that to me not to have to screw with it myself. Taking the wheel off is a bitch on the bird, but on the single sided swingarm VFR its a freakin piece of cake!
