  1. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzing!!!
  2. I do not have an extra one. Hope that helps
  3. Talk about splitting feckin hairs here....wow  You know, I put the plug in as soon as it stops streaming, I don't leave it out to drain every last drop. I know, I'm a bad dad 1/8th inch huh? That's gotta be like 3 quarts :poke: I also only put in 4 quarts at the change. Not 4.1, not 4.2, just 4. I think only engineers have a problem with that small amount
  4. It looks like nothing is impeeding the flow in this cross section pic:
  5. Don't remember who asked, but I found a full handlebar mount kit. Here: http://streetfighters-usa.com/store/page720.html Not particularly my style, but kind of a cool concept, and an alternative to risers.........
  6. Okay, it's solved. I took it all off, put the tank back on and it fired right up Then it died I fiddled around with it for a bit, but it would only idle. I let it warm up with the choke and slowly let the choke off. No hesitations, stumbling or anything weird. With the choke off, any amount of gas would instantly kill it I started by putting one thing at a time on and restarting to see how it liked it. It likes it with EVERYTHING left on  I concluded that the carbs have a total of 7 vacuum lines coming out, 4 top, 2 center, and 1 from the bottom of the #3 carb. It ran better and better as I reattached each of these lines. When I removed the lines initially, I used automotive style vacuum plugs, so there wasn't an issue. It must be something int he balance of the vacuum swirling around down there :? I dunno, I guess I'm stuck with an evaporative system If anyone wants to know how to disconnect and put it all back on, I'm your man
  7. Duane, I have a full sized motorcycle :poke: That actually helps, I see it's basically the motor, and none of the other crap I have down there Thanks dude
  8. Yeah, that' me too. I take one thing off, put it on the shelf, and sometimes have to put it back on Studying the schematic on the manual, it doesn't show any of the evaporative controls. Must be a California Bird only thing :? I'm thinking if I plug off the vacuum from the carbs to those valves and coffee can, then I can remove it all. Then I can put a whole roasted game hen down there and keep it warm for those long rides
  9. Sweet Duane, thanks bro!!! I have other things to do until then.....
  10. For visual reference, this is what I want to take out..........
  11. Cool, I'm special 8) Yes, but it was tied into all this crap if I remember correctly, it was back in August though.. . .. . Izzat all needed then? Even the big manual isn't any help in that department. Doesn't say what any of it does :?: :?: Thanks for chiming in bro, I was getting lonely on my thread Going to put it all back together today. Hopefully it will run
  12. Okay, I tried moving the swingarm to the front for that Bimota Bling, but I couldn't get the steering to work properly, so I put it back on the rear Still wondering what I should block off. The manual isn't much help, it just says where everything goes, it doesn't tell what I can and cannot take off :? I have a sack of block off plugs and zipties itchin to be put to use. Someone help a cracka out
  13. Near as I can tell, most of the lines from the PAIR valve assy were looped through all the smog stuff, valves, coffee can, etc. It seems like if I pull the can and valves out, the tubes can just be plugged right back into the carbs (vacuum ports). :?: :?: :?: Now my bike is almost totally apart No tail, no plastic, thinking about taking the swingarm off to grease the greaseless bearings too
  14. Braided clutch line yo! So.......do I just pull em all off and plug the holes? Plugs changed. Doing oil and cleaning air filter now. Weeeee, rainy days in Cali....
  15. Someone know what I can rip out of here now? I put the smog block off plates in place before NeXXt and was in a hurry, so I just left everything else there. I am changing the plugs today and thought since I'm in there, I might as well start yanking stuff out. I'm pretty sure the coffee can comes out. How about all those tubes and that valve looking thingy? Anyone? Beuller? TIA.....your endowed....er..endearing servant Sean Pics:
  16. Safety Nazi! Where's the fun in a dry tire??
  17. Buy this. From Here Of course, for $40, you can have like 100 new washers from Lowes, but this is neat 8) And you don't have to juggle a hot drain plug Someone buy it and give a report. I don't wanna be the first
  18. Where did you find 1.1 springs? The Race Tech website only shows as high as 1.0, and, uh, ahem, I would be best-suited to the 1.1s. http://www.casporttouring.com/store/mercha...ry_Code=rcetech I called them and they have a lot more applications than listed on line........ Got my springs and valves from dem
  19. Your alternator is out of fluid
  20. Was the "up" in English or Spanish? ....might 'splain the confusion.... I love you Tim
  21. Race Tech 1.1 springs + Gold Valves + 2.5W oil + 6MM shimmed rear = Night and day difference in handling 8) Cheap, IMO, and I did it myself
  22. That's when I do my best wrenching Tender, another Kammie please
  23. Sorry bro, your first post said you ran it low, not empty. So I thought it was normal, and didn't know if you were being funny or serious. Now that I know you are serious.....what happened when you filled up? Did it go to full? I would suspect the float was jarred when you removed the tank and set it down. Sounds like it will be fine.
  24. Add gas. I'm no mechanic, but I think this *may* make the fuel gauge go up
