  1. Is there any one brand that stands out above the rest?
  2. Anybody using these jeans? If so are they any more comfortable then regular jeans? Seems like a good idea..........but so did launching M-80's from a sling-shot while sitting on the hood of my car when I was younger until one fell back out of the sling onto the windshield.....DOH! They advertise in alot of cycle mags. www.gusset.com
  3. Well did a poker run last weekend with a FJR1300 rider from ST.net and he had a inexpensive hand held GPS unit about the size of a small nokia phone and after taking a wrong turn we sorted it out right quick, I think he said he picked it up for under a $100 but he had some pricey map software in it he got for Christmas. I've resisted getting one for so long cause I knew I'd want to get the bling-bling one(which means spending money I shouldn't be spending right now) and I ride to get away from from all the bells & whistles of so called civilization. So here's what I'm looking for............ A)small/handheld/fit under the tank-bag map window(if possible) without the buttons getting pressed by the map window itself, or waterproof B)easy to use C)not to pricey, that includes a decent map program One of the reasons I'd like to get one is I'm planning to get my IronButt cert. in on my way back from my brothers house in florida and I like the "how far/how fast" info it gives you. Anybody have one they are looking to get rid of? PM or e-mail me. Thanks
  4. Or else...... :bigchicken:
  5. John, Yah pick me one up if you would, Thanks. Let me know how much I owe you when you get back. PS, Did you get my PM's on that corbin? let me know if that deal falls through.
  6. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...&category=35580 Anybody recognize what brand this is??? A year or so ago I went so far as to have Hugo e-mail a guy in france who had one on his bike in the pics section over at www.superblackbird.info
  7. Looks like a wind screen bushing but from that angle I can't tell for sure. Take a pic of it laying flat.
  8. Dennis kirk has some 90 degree valve stems, I bought a set to install on my next tire change. Tired of fighting with my pressure guage between the rotors.
  9. Yoshi must have started with the rivet/hole set-up after your's were produced, I think I bought mine around january 2003. Mine has the clamp like your's but with the rivet under it. Anyway if it's not there I guess you don't have to worry about it, still watch your swing arm travel vs. slip-on's.
  10. DoubleX, Make sure you have some one sit on the bike BEFORE you drill the holes for the rivet that keeps the slip-ons from twisting in the head pipe, I failed to do this now one slip-on rubs the swing arm. I did not realize(when I drilled the holes) that the swing arm would come up far enough to rub up against the slip-on. DOOOHHHHHH !!!!!!!
  11. Does the antenna have to be mounted to the outside like that?? or can it be mounted........say under the nose, or even inside the nose section?? I've been thinking about XM for my bike(getting sick of no reception from the walkman). How much a month?? And do you ever lose the signal??
  12. I have to give the vote to the Gerbing's heated jacket liner, I also have a widder vest(which is for sale[with adj. themostat cord]<size 40>$100+ship)which works great but I prefer having my arms warm also, Gerbing's is a family run biz and everybody is real helpful. Warchild is right, make sure you get the adjustable thermostat cause you'll be uncomfortable as the outside temps go up and down.
  13. JohnA, I use Kerosene(same as #1 diesel)to clean my chain, works great to loosen up any grease/grit and takes care of surface rust.
  14. www.autumnriders.com unfortunatly they don't have the bird on file
  15. According to J & M's catolog there looking into this matter as we speak, they do have a couple of walkman/mp3 covers that would probably work just fine.
  16. www.stemstand.com check out the honda section
  17. All done...........Thanks
  18. Here they come :chicken: :chicken: :chicken: :chicken: :chicken: :chicken: :chicken: :chicken: :chicken: :chicken: :chicken: :chicken: :chicken: :chicken: :chicken: :chicken: :chicken: :chicken: :chicken: :chicken: :chicken:
  19. I know a few of you have removed the license plate light contraption that comes on the US models and replaced the block off plate on the bottom of the tail light lens with a clear lens. I'm going to have to do this because my 5-star rack was engineered for the european model and the brace that attaches between the left & right side racks goes right through the license plate lamp. My question is(before I end up busting up my tail light lens) is how did you get the block off plate out? I just put the whole tail section back together(body work/grab handle/luggage rack) and I do not want to do that again just to take off the tail light. It doesn't look like I will have to do that but it's better to ask first before getting out the chain saw. :chainsaw:
  20. I don't have the front turn signal/mirrors on the bike right now so that may be the problem, I wanted to see if every thing worked before I put the body work back on. Will update soon.
  21. $44.95 Nope.... the relay taps into the positive side of the headlight so when you hit the starter it shuts down the accessories(momentarily) so the starter has maximum juice.
  22. Well I installed a universal power plate [ http://www.electricalconnection.com/power%...ion/pp-univ.JPG ] the other day so I can run(and fuse) all my accessories to one location. every thing works great except my turn signals blink twice as fast, wassup wit dat? do I need better ground for my accessories?
  23. There was a auction on ebay for a adjustable "dog-bone" for the XX the other day and it went for $107, I saved the auction in "my ebay" but I don't think it will link now as it ended already. his seller name is duracoracing@chartermi.net , sounds like a email address to me.... email him and ask him where he got it from.
  24. Before installing a chain oiler ( www.cls200.de ) I tried alot of different stuff but I found that Maxima chain WAX was the best. spray it on let it dry a bit....no fling off and it attracts alot less dirt than chain lube. That's my $.02
  25. Big Jeff, I think it takes a few days for SRP to update the web-site, when I bought in on the 01-03 reverse indiglow it didn't show for several days. It does seem that there are more people saying they signed up for these face plates than it's showing......I hope he's keeping things organized over there.
