  1. lol i saw this and got hopeful. Just came in from searching my garage for my left hand mirror boot also (finally replace the mirror arm/cover and now I cant find the damn boot!) If Josh doesnt have them, I got mine from IndyOEM they were good to deal with and about the cheapest.

  2. can you adapt a r1 rectifier to a 1997 xx and if so what year model r1 rectifier do i use???

Yes, have one on my 97. IIRC, the r1 and r6 ones are interchangeable. I will try to dig up which year i used

  3. So there was a small crack in my seat fabric that was less than 1/8 inch long about a month ago... It has since grown to at least 1/2 inch or so and shows no signs of slowing. Is there anything at all I can do to impede this process, or am i just screwed and need to get it recovered?

    TIA

  4. I had this problem with my LED tail light.

The 4 pin block is the one fitted to the Honda Hornet.

All you need to do is remove the pins from the 4 pin block with a micro screwdriver.

( there is a tiny prong on the side of the pins that needs pushing in )

Take the old three pin block off your OEM tail light and insert the pins from the LED light in to the old OEM block.

The extra wire is just an earth wire and can be spliced.

Then connect the indicator wires as normal.

That is the advice that I got on cbrxx and it worked for me.

Here is the thread with pics of my taillight if you need it

  5. Josh, thanks for the advice and I will not be switching my old pads for sure. Your offer is very generous and I would love to ride out and check out the stable you have also. I will have to wait till i get my front tire and get them installed though, I wouldnt trust my old ones to ride on. If you dont mind, I may give you a yell once i get them on and ride out your way. Thanks again!!

  6. I am going to do the brakes when i put my new tires on (if the front ever arrives!!) I read somewhere on here to buy two and use one of the old front sets on the back. Is that actually kosher? I am kind of on a budget and every last nickel helps...

    Thanks!

  7. I unplugged the connector at the kickstand, and it is a three pronged receptacle. I plugged a piece of wire into each of these three and connected them all together at the end. Was this incorrect?

  8. And that is the awesomeness that is this board! Super interesting thread, even if it was over my head for a lot of it. I think I learned a lot just reading the back and forth, just hope i never need it...:) The time with your son is definitely something that he will remember forever, I bet you are superdad now that you two got it running!

Also want to thank Josh for the stator cover yesterday, my bird lives again thanks to him. You are the man Josh!!!!!!

  9. So I had a lowside a few weeks back. Broke my left mirror bracket, cracked my stator cover, broke windshield, and broke the kickstand sensor switch. Josh is supplying me with a stator cover (thanks again Josh). I was wearing all gear so luckily i just dislocated my shoulder. My question is how can I trick the switch to think my kickstand is down(I mean UP, thanks rhubarb) all the time? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I will try to get some pics up shortly. Thanks all
