I did scratch a previous one by simply hitting a block wall accidentally, not even doing anything. And one of them got all scratched up (lightly) for no particular reason. A friend who works in IT and electrical cabinets has broken two, but one was just a dumb thing like my wall incident. He now wears one of the hard cases over it.
I don't think I've ever taken this off while out of bed. Charge overnight, wear all day, 100% of the time.
Thanks for the actively daily use observations. Do you run a glass protective cover on the screen? Like the ones they make for iPhones?
My wife was lamenting this morning she has some nicks in the glass she wishes she had protected against.

Feel like I need this in my life......I am traditionally an analog/dive watch kind of guy, but the digital analog screen is cool, and I could use the heart monitoring capability.

Nice build. When we bought my son's XX, there was a 1989 XR600 in the backyard. Guy offered it to us for $200, and said he had the title. I shrugged. No magic button (starter) and it looked pretty hammered. My soon was all over it taking pictures. Yours should be a beast when done.

Miles on the DRZ? Very, very interested. My 18 year old son is dying for a dual sport to ride with his brother and I who each already have DRZs. He just did his MSF course. Be a good father-son project, and easy U-Ship pick up and delivery.

These are super impressive to look at in-person. There is a 2014 Valkyrie for sale near my house, and they are cool, but not nearly as impressive as the Rune.

I am in the same boat. AND I love the patriotic colors. My 21 year old son would pay to have a kidney harvested to buy this bike. Going to be a dick here as there was a 2016 for sale last night in Seattle for $6900 with 300 miles. My son corrected me and said the 2016s have fork issues. But, as another member said , just a "little" high. You may want to consider $11,499

David Silverspares used to ship the XX racks over the pond. I looked at them back in the day. If I recall they used the VFR800 bags? I had a 2002 VFR800 and considered buying the racks to move them over to an XX.

Had a C14, was never an issue for me. I never found the Blackbird to be too hot either.
