Thanks for the help.

Are you guys using the Pro Honda SS-8 10wt for fork oil or having success with heavier oils? Rich at Sonicsprings is telling me that since its a cartridge fork oils heavier than 10wt will flow too slowly and make damping too harsh. Experience with heavier fork oils?

Hopefully a quick one. While searching for the CB400SF master cylinder I came across this webpage.
And it has the CBR900RR('92-'99) master in the same group. What are the chances this'd fit as it's easier to find?

$135 for a adjustable caps? I paid $30 on the SV.
Jaws sells a replacement fork cap with a pre-load adjuster. -
Kinda OT, but is there any place that sell adjustable caps or another bike's forks that have an adjustable cap that'd fit?

$79. And don't forget new fork oil.

+1 on Amdro. Kills Texas fireants very effectively. Just make sure it's the bait for the queen.
Think "Amdro" puts a good one out. -
2"x12"x18' joists on 16" centers. Garage is a 2 car garage with a split front if that makes a difference. How do I find out or who should I ask to determine what kind of loading it can handle?

I've been thinking about flooring the attic over the garage for more storage space. Is 5/8" plywood thick enough or should it be 3/4"?

I'm guessing it's nutsedge. Does it look like this:

If so Image (Mosanto makes it) is the only stuff that works. 'Manage' (what they sell at Home Depot) is a POS. It'll take 2-3 applications of Image (post emergent) to keep it away. If it is nutsedge it means there's a drainage problem. I'm still fighting mine. Otherwise, MSMA.

A thread from the WERA board. Couple other people swear by the tankless waterheater.

I was at Home Depot today picking up air filters and I was wondering if anyone has a line on a cheap 3m Filtrete filters online?
Also I walked by the water heater section and saw the tankless waterheaters. A little comparison of numbers shows the tankless have 3x the 90 degress GPH rating of my standard 40gallon. Anyone have experience with these? I imagine they're also an improvement in terms of resale as well.

ITS ALIVE!!!!
Well kinda. I sorted out the electrical issue and resoldered the ignition ground wire. Bam, it cranked over and started spitting oil from the oil cooler. But it sounded good for the 5 seconds it ran. Too bad the rest of the frame is bent to shit. Thanks for the help Joe and everyone else.

Joe,
Theres no instrument cluster left. It took the brunt of the collision. Should the bike be able to fire without the instrument cluster?

lol. Nah she'd ruin a good set of lips on the sharp metal of the muffler. Thanks though.
It's in neutral, kickstand shouldn't affect start then. Check on the killswitch too. On the lights, there's not a real good way to check that since they kind of disintegrated.
My wife can suck start a Harley, want me to send her over offer a helping hand?Actually check some little things.. like its not in gear, or kickstand switch, kill switch.
Do you lights and everything else work?

yeah yeah yeah, double entendres aside...
I finally got around to pulling the fucked peices off the bird this weekend and seeing what was still ok. I want to try to crank it over and see if it'll still run, sans the dash. I turn the key and nothing, no fuel pump wirring. Pull the tank and check the battery and fuses. They're fine. I pulled the tip sensor and grounded it. Still nothing. So I guess the question is, how do I hotwire the bird and give it a test crank?

What are you guys using for greasing the axle when you remount? Mobil-1, Amsoil, Valvoline? Or should I stick to a mixture of WD-40, vaseline, KY and Astroglide?

This months? I've got to go back and reread it.
This is right out of Road racing world, written by Team AOD on suspension set up. -
I'm able to connect to the board from a couple different ISP's that I have boxes, but when I try to connect from my cable modem subnet I timeout. Is the 70.112.113.0/20 being blocked or any other subnet for TimeWarner? Traceroutes all die off at car2-4-v2.dllstx2.theplanet.com (12.96.160.52).

$2 generic solution at Target had the removable tops.

I was noticing that the outdoor cement sealer looks identical to the grout sealer and does essentially the same thing at 1/6th the price. The guys at the tile store couldn't give me a reason not to use it other than "It's not labelled grout sealant." I tried a test spot in the utility room and let it dry for 24hrs. It beads up water just like the grout sealer and once dry there is no discoloration. I also found that using old contact solution bottles made it easier to apply quickly than expensive roller or brush bottles.
-
On the topic of tile. Does anyone have a way to seal a lot of grout? We just had 3000sq ft of tile installed and I'm not sure I want to seal all those lines with the roller-bottle solution.

My 99 still gets around 30-33mpg on the hwy even after 18000mi. I get about 150-160mi on a tank and put in about 5 gallons. For some reason I get better mileage on Chevron gas, usually closer to 36mpg.
BTW, what are you running your tire pressure at? 38F/40R here.
