  1. Can't help much mine is a 98 it runs cool since jetted and drilling the stock exaust, never feel any heat unless at idle in traffic, it runs at the cold line and never been past half on the gauge, I rode my friends 2001 FI big difference, I felt heat bellowing out all the time 90 degree day.

    It's an FI thing.

  2. One more thing, you can put the laminate floor in yourself if you want to. You don't have to be a contractor to do it yourself, it is REALLY easy. All you really need is a good saw and you can rent that. Our 13 year old did part of it while I was out getting more. The laminate floor just snaps together. Super quick, super easy. Main things you want to make sure of is that you floor is clean before you start and that you leave a small gap between the wall and your flooring (if you butt it up against the wall you will come home one day and have a 6 inch buckle in your floor). Whaen you go pricing remember that you need a vapor barrier (plastic sheeting) and then baffle material (foam which the Armstrong I got came with it pre attached to each plank which IMHO is the way to go).

You really don't even have to think you can do it, it's easy. And, the best thing of all is the satisfaction once you are done, knowing YOU did that!

  3. How hot does your XX run ?

Hotter than two rats fucking in a wool sock on a Texas sidewalk.

I have the same problem. I have a 99 so I don't know what temp it runs but I know if I drop below 30-40mph the temp shoots up. I have even had it overheat.

  4. As for places to buy - don't use Home Depot or Lowe's. Great places to view it adn get ideas but not to purchase. Even Costco is a beter choice.

Why? Lowes is the most inexpensive retailer of armstrong flooring. You wanna pay more just so you can have someone knowlegable standing there? Not me.

  5. Laminate is a little louder, but with the dogs that is why wood was out of the question for me. Laminate is indestructible, wood is not. There is more upkeep with wood, laminate is easier to care for. As far as the look, the floor I got was not cheap (compared to other laminates) but looked the best I thought. Here is the only picture I can find...

Mine was Armstrong Swiftlock. It had a taper on each edge which gave it a different look. I bought mine at Lowes.

  6. Very interesting and detailed writeup, but I think the few bucks it would cost to get it done somewhere would be worth my time.

Agreed, unless you go thru tires regularly and like doing it yourself. All you have to do is watch Mac do 2 in less than ten minutes then you realize how quick it can be done with some practice.

Btw, thanks Mac, I thought it looked familiar.

  7. Umm, I think I'll just pay the shop $35 a tire to switch them out and balance them on their $3,000 machine so it's right.

A $3,000 machine doesn't mean it'll be right or that your rims won't get scratched...

Just means you be spending $70 per set the rest of your life.

    baaaaaah

  8. I always trailer to the track. It makes the day so much more enjoyable. You got to have the cooler, food, ez up, chairs, etc....

Plus, calling someone to give you a lift when you wad it up ain't no good.

  9. Prolly your new chain & sprockets. What front sprocket did you put on. When you are going 60ish and hear it, pull in the clutch and see if the noise goes away. Nott perfect, but if it stays around it is almost always your chain. Different chains make different noises and if you replaced the stock sprocket with the rubber dampner with one that doesn't have one it will make a little more noise. If that's the case nothing to worry over.
