  1. I don't know how you do that Mike!!! I run the same tire pressure as you and mike look like that with 4k miles on them. Oh, and I DO love the grip!!!
  2. Bill, I went to Harbor Freight and bought their Shrink Wrap sampler pack 1" down to 3/8" in (I believe) 4' rolls... Used the 1" on the left bar. The left side heats up nicely now... Much warmer and faster than without.
  3. That's the software for the PCIII USB... 2.7.8.22 is for the PCII, PCIII and PCIIIr...
  4. Never hear of a .DJM file... It should be a .map file.
  5. Sounds about right... The MRA VarioTouring screen is a vaild option. I'd like to see some pics of the JCW bags and the mounts you fabricated! Yeah the Givis are expensive, but the choices are rather limited... So are ya keepin' the JCW option a secret??? :icon_think: Luckily (I guess) for me, I can't ride any distance sitting upright 'cuz of my L5... The MRA/Corbin/Buell/VFR combo makes riding doable and relatively painless!!!
  6. Rich... Look on the sidewall of the tire and find the elephant (or what's left of it)... There should be either an arrow or the letters TWI. Draw an imaginary line across the tire and you'll fine the indicators in the groove near the center (the ungrooved section).
  7. Loved the Powers ('cept fore the mileage) and HATED the Roads ('cept for the mileage)... Now, this combination interests me!!! keep me posted as my Powers are just about gone and I'll be doing tires this winter. I was planning to just go back to the Z6s (front and rear), but the M3/Z6 sound intriquing. Keep us posted on your results and likes/dislikes!!!
  8. Any idea what Warchild is running for tires? He's usually touting the Avons...
  9. Well duh on me... Here's the map for my '99 Bird... Yosh slipons, K&N filter and regular gas... 99Bird.zip
  10. Routed mine down 'n out on the left front oft the rear body panel...
  11. I emailed mine to Jason back in June. I believe that the intent was to eventually have an online repository of maps to pick from... Jason??? I have a map for a '99 with Yoshi slipons, a K&N and PAIR block-off. It was made with 87 octane gas. Only got a couple of extra HP and ft/lbs of torque, but bike is now smooth as butta all across the RPM range and I gained a couple of MPG in the process.
  12. I have both and the RK is far superior to the Motion Pro IMHO...
  13. If you never felt that you were EVEN close to pushing the M1 to the limit, then I'd say you won't have any issues with the Z6. I'm running M1s on the ol' Duc and it's only when I've been to the track that I came close to pushing the tire. The Z6 is somewhere between the PR and Powers whne it comes to grip and profile... Closer to the Powers gripwise and wearwise. The Z6 has been my favorite tire for the 'Bird. The Powers are killer, but they are a softer compound and do wear a bit faster. My last set of tires before the Michelin experiments was a M1 front and a Z6 rear. I'll bet the new M3 would be even better on the front now.
  14. MileHi

    Carbs

    AKA HAMMER!!!
  15. No you're not... I never felt confotable on the Roads either. I couldn't wait to get 'em off the 'Bird. Currently running the Pilot Powers. I'll sacrifice the mileage for for better feel and grip! The Roads after the Z6's were a major let down for me.
  16. Excellent point... When I had the 'Bird dyno'd I made sure that the tank was full of the gas I normally use (87 octane). I didn't gain a whole lotof extra HP or tourque, but it ran SO much better and I did gain a couple of MPG...
  17. Chris, No first hand experience, but I do know that the Motorhrad (Dennis) is a miracle worker in the 'Busa community.
  18. Try this link... Pretty comprehensive how to do... How to polish plastic
  19. Acctually, I have a few friends that have the xb9/12r models and the pegs are straight out. The xb9/12s models have the pegs that go down then out, giving you an extra 3/4 inch in lowering the peg. Buell pegs (N0006.1AD)
  20. But not so easy to find outside of The Land of Oz... I use Stabilant-22... Expensive and meets Mil-Spec... Works great on all electrical/electronic connections.
  21. Unless your guy did something special with your fork lowers (or you have the "special" '02 lowers ) There doesn't appear to be ANY adjustment screws (visible) on my bike...
