I have mild RA, and CBD seems to calm everything when I really overdo it.

Have wanted to try CBD out, which type of do you use and brand?

My company has voiced against the use of it unless it is from a reputable manufacturer as there is a zero tolerance of any drug. Not as if manufacturers are willingly leaving or adding THC in their products. Just havent looked into them to try out anything for joint pain.

  2. Yep, huge dislike for drugs myself. Then suddenly at 38 or 39 years old After a RacerXX meet I can't move from joint pain, started doing my own injections after being diagnosed of being the poster child of Rheumatoid Arthritis head to toe.

Now I take injections, side effects include super high blood pressure. On a low dose med for that, D3 vitamins as I have to avoid sunlight and my body is producing antibodies rapidly against these injections, take this pill to slow that down and make them last longer. But wait, there is more. That medication will make you nauseous as a pregnant woman, take this to aid in that as well.

I miss the days of taking something for a headache, now I got one of those daily pill containers and injections to just allow me to move. Guess the good news is I can still walk, fuck and ride motorcycles.

AFAIK there's no prep to do, they do it.  I think they charge extra to decorbonize used parts, maybe you could do that part, but I'd ask them.  Chances are they'll want to do it anyway otherwise it would be risky to guarantee the job.

An alternative is a titanium pipe, probably only costs about a grand 😆

I would love to put some dual ti leo vince pipes on her. Sexy italian rumble makers,

I went to go test it.  The Withings app won't see the device.  I can pair it, and all that, and the account shows it active, but can't tell it to test me.  Tech support is being retarded.  I documented what I tried, they of course didn't read it and telling me the same shit, plus other bullshit.  So now my BP is probably sky high.

I sometimes leave the technology behind. Ordered a new range finder and one I was looking at needed a Bluetooth connection and read the ballistics program used for bullet drop calculations didnt allow for some adjustments.

So basically pointless, tell me the damn yardage, I got a ballistics app that works or even better. Simple piece of tape stuck to side of rifle with my moa adjustments for yardages.

Well, she was born like that. It is different.

My good friend doctor, got good number of patients with prediabetic conditions cured by telling them to eliminate rice, potatoes, bread, anything with flour, cookies, etc, anything with high carb and sugar content. And getting their asses of the couches.

That's what I would try first instead for being guinea pig for some company in China.

     That's all.

While true moving a bunch more and avoiding a lot of foods can greatly increase your bodies ability to reverse pre-diabetes.

We have become a nation of quick food that isnt good for you, processed foods and entertaining ourselves with couch time instead of more active ways.

Or portion control and regular exercise. Works every time.

Not always, people are born diabetic and others are insulin resistant. My wife is one of them, weighs 125lbs and even the insurance companies are a freaking nightmare to deal with because she isn't 300lbs. Her arm sensor for blood sugar levels isn't covered either because she isn't 300lbs.

Took over 2 weeks of phone calls for her (2) prior authorizations for her Mounjaro shots to be completed for the next yr.

She stays active, eats like a small bird to maintain blood sugar levels and if she loses any more weight has issues with the medication because of the dosage to body mass ratio.

If you do it be sure to take before and after photos plus the details on having it done, please.  Would you have to prep it, cost, time until returned, etc. is what would be interesting to know.

Buddy had his exhaust done by a local shop handful of years ago. Going to check with him today for the shop info and reach out to them.

  8. Both radiators on in filled, air bubbles purged and fans are now working as is the auxiliary switch. Had to do some wire chasing and found a broken connection near the relay plug. So now that all of that is done, I was just about ready to start putting plastics on and my son commented on removal of the exhaust and having it Jet coated to clean it up and protect it since it does look crappy.

I think his is a company truck so...

Yes and even then the amount of crap I have dealt with over the years is amazing.

Ford 4WD not engaging, they had the truck for two weeks. Say its fixed, (from the techs mouth "they put it into 4WD and icon illuminated on dash") I did an awesome 4Lo burnout in parking lot to show them the front hubs were not engaging. Drove it to another dealership, repaired in 2 days with new parts.

Ford F150 Driver/passenger door not latching recall, solution was to replace the door latch connecting rods. Problem is not the rods but the plastic coated door latch itself, failed again the next morning. Ford said they would replace the rods again though. Solved it myself and my coworkers, even helped a lady stranded at a gas station who had the same issue earlier this year. Little bit of PB blaster and a flat head screw driver.

Dodge Charger spindle nut backed off (no cotter pin used where there should have been one) trashed bearing. I actually get a call from the tech as the young lady working the shop desk had no clue what a castle nut, spindle, hub assembly or cotter pin was. He got failed bearing on the work order, Took 20 seconds on the phone with the tech to get "no problem I gotcha, probably have one on the shelf and will be ready in a few hours)

Charger serviced, oil filter gasket blew out 100 or so miles later leaving work, towed to shop (yes, the same shop) They heard a ticking noise and wanted $1500 to tear down the engine to inspect it. $150 to power wash engine bay for oil spray. I am thinking WTF?, coworker asked me was it ticking when it lost oil pressure, nope pulled over and shut it off due to the warning lights and beeping. If it wasn't ticking then, its not ticking now. Go pick it up, there is a ticking noise. Just happens to be the ticking noise they hear is from the FI solenoids doing their job not from the engine. Damn I miss that car, just fun to drive and comfy.

Fucking Hyundai, so bad I would take pictures of it each time a rollback took it away. Had sales people answering the phone for the shop, a dozen calls for a TPMS faulty in one wheel taking 6 months to fix, lug nuts tightened so bad that I had to break them. Calling to ask if you want your car serviced while its in the shop waiting for parts to fix it yet again. The awesome time the shop called me as the roll back driver and shop manager got into a fight over dropping off the car. Would never ever own another, aside from this it was also during the time I had MPG issues, Hyundai was caught cheating on their inflated MPG and had to issue a recall on their engines as they were imploding themselves due to poor casting methods.

Those are some of the bad, had some good ones along the way as well.

    I heard something about that.

I didn't want an Excursion when I bought it, I was just shopping for the engine to tow my boat and this was the cheapest 7.3 on CL.  When I saw the ad my first thought was "I can't tow 13k lbs. with a car, I need a truck...then I started investigating.  I sometimes wish it was a pickup and that it had 4WD, but this is better for the vast majority of what I want to do.

1/2 a day repair for the rear axle to be replaced, will have to set up an appointment and see if they even have the part available first. Probably shouldn't put it off as the truck tips the scales at over 9k lbs.

LOL, I knew I'd get that question.  That's how they spec it.  There are a few fluids, and technically, electrons have mass.  So when I talked to a guy at the local training facility, I asked him about opportunities to charge on site, since it's a long ride there and then I'd be on the course half the day.  "And I'd rather not fill it beforehand, so it doesn't weigh it down for the class."  I think I have to apologize for the brain damage I gave him.

For size and weight, consider it an electric Blackbird, but with the weight lower in the chassis.  Really all around it's an electric XX.

Front has 900 miles and rear has 100-some.

An electric XX, if as comfy as the XX that sounds like a lot of fun.

weigh it down for class

Mileage isn't bad, might also not be the tire choice you are after. We all fall in love with a tire brand and easily hate others at well. These might simply not give you the performance you are seeking or expecting.

The riding pressure change seems to be up about 3 psi, but I have only casually observed that and not carefully noted it.  While rising temp means more pressure, it also means softer rubber, so in theory, they actually balance out.  I can't say that I've actually noticed a change, and now realize that I haven't given it enough thought.  When I've left with the tires a little low, I notice it right away, but then my brain just filters it out as the way it is.

Max pressure is like most sport tires, 42 for both, with the front showing that for a 520 pound load and rear for 805 pounds.  The bike is 518 wet, there are accessories, my fat ass, and occasionally Moriah's much slimmer ass.  Interestingly the front is made in Germany and the rear is made in China.  The rear was replaced at a local shop, front is OEM.

Monitoring and adjusting the PSI little by little for the best happy medium and even different pressures in each tire 1 at a time to note differences. 518lbs, (is it really wet being electric?) never would have guessed that weight for the bike. For some reason I had around 400lbs or so in my mind.

Don't forget that the tires profile will also change with wear. When you swap out the old tires and get fresh ones, they make bikes feels as if it lost 50lbs and handles amazing. Another issue to play tricks on your mind as you test out pressures.

  13. How much psi does it rise once up to temp in the Arizona sun? Does it feel better once up to temp?

Should increase a couple psi, my truck will gain 5 or 6 psi easily but also granted that it is holding way more air.

Also what does the tire say on the sidewall?

Damn, I've been using a 5 minute timer with my French press, I also use espresso roasted beans, I find the darker roast has more taste, but less caffeine.

if you are happy with the taste why change it? I have never done a 5 minute wait using my press, will give it a go and see if I notice any changes.

  15. Yep, Rothmans and Thermae make a similar setup to get the radiators to the front. Back in the day the kits were $800 or so. Not plug and play either, you had to make it fit clearance of the plastics and front wheel during suspension travel under heavy braking.

    Miss watching Stoner race

Both radiators are on, now to fill and check for leaks again and then wrangle the plastics back on.

On my 1978 CB 750 I had many years ago, I was riding and the main fuse went.  Replaced and it never went again.  Was there a voltage spike or the fuse weakened over time?  Who knows.

Goldwings have them, you can get more square footage of radiator in there over the single unit.   Servicing cars and bikes seems to not even be a thought to the design engineers or at least it feels that way when you are working on them.

I hope they used a better design on the goldwing than between the SP1 and SP2 RC51.

early SP1 models had 2 radiators and 1 fan. SP2 such as mine has 2 fans, that draws air in. Front cylinder and exhaust pipe sits basically between the radiators. Below 30ish mph the fans do their best, above 30mph the air coming in the front of the bike cancels out the air the fans can draw in.

Overheating can happen rapidly in mid summer in little traffic or a few traffic lights. Running engine ice is a help, a big modification people do is swap out the factory fans for larger sprawl fans turning in the opposite direction trying to evacuate as much heat away from the bike and not fight the front air once around 30mph +. A member on the RC boards made kits for this with new fan brackets. Not made anymore I believe, can get the fans but would need to fab up mounting and get connectors.

Another common mod I did install is an auxiliary switch to the heat sensor relay to use if temps started climbing. This allows you to get a head start if you encounter traffic. This is where I believe my trouble occurred, seems my son was flicking this on and off randomly riding at 60deg at night for his comfort than the bike needing it.

That is where my troubles began, fuse blown, replaced the fuse but the switch to turn on fans is not working still. I rolled the bike outside to see if the fans would come on by themselves once it hit high temp and saw the leaking radiator so shut it down and tore apart.  Once I get the right side back together and the system filled up I get to check this again to see what works or dont.

If they do work I most likely will remove this bar mounted switch all together, or replace it with a much smaller toggle that is hidden out of reach of kids fingers.

Dang kids, he even asked me if he could ride it at RacerXX. 😆

  17. Got one side on, taking a break now. On vacation and this is too much like work.

Just to the right of it is the fuse block, couldnt place it under the seat or tail section.

Doesnt matter at this point I guess. Least of my problems.

    20231028_123120.jpg

  18. Slowly knocking out some projects, got the next 9 days off.

RC51 had some issues few weeks ago.  Electrical, easy fix blown fuse (but why did it blow) still looking. Took longer to remove plastics to get to fuse block

The fan fuse, which also messed with the turn signal and brake lights affected my sons night time adventures visiting family. This is why we learn hand signals.

Roll outside to bring up to temp and see if fan kicks on and if fuse just gave up the ghost from 20yrs of heat and use. Instantly see a drip off the left radiator.

New radiators ordered and damn what a pain to remove. Bike was wrecked by original owner, so she has been sporting slightly dinged radiators and Chinese plastics for a while.

2 side radiators has to be the dumbest shit a honda engineer came up with. Even the RC51 race bikes ran a single front radiator.

Now to install these spawns of Satan, figured I would rant while taking a break.

  19. The advantages of a Moka pot to extract more from the beans is exactly why I prefer a French press for my coffee. The 2 minute wait allows the grounds to bloom and forcing the water through them extracts the oils and coffee flavor notes that is left far behind in a traditional drip coffee. Leaving you with a creamier cup of coffee with lots of flavor.

Not a big expresso fan, but not a hater either. Well, unless you are buying one of those BS milkshakes people call coffee with shots of expresso in them from Starbucks and the like.

I meant to comment on them earlier.  It's the first time I've seen them other than on my Bird.

They use to be available in two colors, the black CF and yellow/gold kevlar. The person I bought them from changed their mind of adding them to their XX. I know the adhesive used to secure them to the covers must some of the strongest I have ever used. Like yourself, don't think I have ever seen them on another bird.
