Nice bike, good deal. Just sold my KLR650, if you were closer I would take the Big Honda.
I like Coors Light, at least better than Bud55 or Miller 64.
LOL -- and I would have taken your KLR! I haven't tried the ultra light stuff yet. It didn't look very promising.
-
It has more pickup than I've ever seen in a dual sport -- it puts the KLR to SHAME. Really. I was shocked.
Jetted and uncorked those things are torque monsters. The XR was the only bike I could ever wheelie for shit, BIG controllable power. If everyone else hadn't jumped all over this thing I'd be seriously considering it myself.
BTW, Coors Light? Christ, I thought you had better taste than that.
I believe it, Tim. I have no interest in trying to put that thing on one wheel, but I'm sure it would do it with little effort.
And yeah, Coors Light. I either want my beer like water or mud. Nothing in between. If it's the color of piss, I won't like it. Doesn't mean I won't drink it, just means I won't enjoy it.

I think the members want you to keep it...and ride it....and show up at more meets...
LOL. This group is a "blood in, blood out" kinda thing, isn't it? Member for life?
I'm planning PRIXXS and NEXXT this year.
Why wait?
There's a ride this weekend at Hawk's Nest (Port Jervis NY)...
Check the threads...
Temps in the 70's are predicted...
Roads are clean, I've been through there 3 or 4 times so far..
Come on, ya know ya want to do it...
LOL. I couldn't ride that far on one of my best days, but thank you. Besides, I work 10 hour shifts all weekend.
:-P

I find it hilarious that a bird on a bird forum gets no interest, but an old xr gets swept away in a matter of minutes. Just sayin.

Great choices....condo's in FL....a-plenty. Great long term investment you can use.
Good luck....start the stockpile.
Need some freezer space? :0)
Why thank you! LOL.
Yeah, I was looking at property down there and I don't think the market has settled at all in FL. I imagine if I show up cash in hand I can steal something.

I'm sort of... condensing. I have five bikes right now and I think my taste is being pushed to different investments. I really want to buy a condo in FL within 48 months. I know that's a long time out, but to plan to have that kind of money, I need that kind of time. The bikes are here, they're sitting, yeah I use em once in a while, but not enough to keep em. They are only going to depreciate with time, so I figured it was time to let some go. I may change my mind in a bit, but there will always be bikes on the market if I need something new. I'm keeping my KLR 650 right now, and maybe my KLR 250 unless someone wants it for the right price. I think if I can sell the bird (although the market looks a bit flooded right now), I will buy another KLR 650 and keep the pair to ride with my boyfriend. He and I do a lot of day and weekend trips and the bikes would be nice. Basically, I'm trying to refocus, consider some real goals and get rid of the toys. Toys cloud my mind, as they're just pacifiers for me; I should more constructive with my time.
Sorry, that was a bit more of a diary entry than an answer. Blame the Coors Light. :icon_silenced:
Tim, yeah, this thing seems like it's bulletproof. It doesn't care if it's four degrees out, it starts right up and goes. It has more pickup than I've ever seen in a dual sport -- it puts the KLR to SHAME. Really. I was shocked.

Wow, can't believe I'm getting a response for this old bike. LOL
Dave, you'd never let something like this in your garage! I've seen your shiny, clean newness! LOL
-
It's got just over 12k on it, bigger gas tank, upgraded shocks, slim-lined mirrors, different rear plastics, I dunno, the last owner ripped out all the crap that slows it down and stuff. LOL. I can't say I listened closely. The speedo cable broke right after I got it, but I'll throw another one on, it's sitting around here somewhere. I rode it around the local streets once or twice and that's about it. It could use a new rear tire, looks like the last owner rode highway mostly, so it has that flat center feel. This thing looks like it fell out of the mountains of Colorado or something, kinda got that lived in look. I'm asking $1800 locally, on the board I'll ask $1500. I have all the original parts in a box in great condition too, but I'm not including that in the price -- feel free to haggle with me if you want em.
Just so you know, I only registered it a few weeks ago and CT probably needs another week or two to get me my title. I can't make it happen any faster than that if someone wants the bike.
As I'm thinking about it, there's a small tear in the seat from use. Just putting that out there. As I think of things, I'll post em. Like I said, she looks used, but not beaten. At least, not to me. I think she looks like a dual sport is supposed to, but that's just my opinion.
-
Anyone in the CT area looking for one? It looks like all the other 02 birds, has 2 cig lighter plugs, vfr bars, givi top and side racks, Dave's lowering pegs, less than 20k miles. Has a zumo 550 mount too. Any thoughts?
You know my opinion on the subject... :icon_nono:
Yes, yes I do. I don't have to sell it, but it's silly to have it in the garage just taking up space. I have to pay insurance on it, pay for routine maintenance, and then pay if someone drops something on it in the garage or God forbid, knocks it over. It's gonna collect dust and I'd prefer someone use it. It's a great bike.

Sorry love. Sold it today.
God bless you. I think my boyfriend will disown me if I bring home another bike. He only bought the, "they're reproducing in the cold, lonely garage" line once, when another honda showed up. Another brand comes in and he's no fool. The bikes can't sign adoption papers.

You have no idea how often I open this thread and think reallllllllllll hard about buying.
Bump.
Would someone else buy this please!

Hell of a deal if it's legit....
-
Does it have the adapter plate for the Givi cases?
And is it black?
Yeah, it's black. With a silverish sheen over it that makes it kinda silver.
It also comes with the toprack.

It's a really sweet bike, Scot takes wonderful care of his toys. If you know anyone who may be interested and can pass it along, it's appreciated.

Never used, still bubblewrapped from original shipper. Paid $170 for it. Any offers?
-
Wish you were closer, I'd consider it.
-
As things are going, I'm waiting for May 17th.
Good luck with the sale.
-
You did give me the itch though. I'm going up to Hoffmans today if I can.
-
And with the way you'd USE it, I'd think you'd want that big ole fat can on the end of the barrel to stay on it!
I'm glad you didn't get the breacher model, Dave, or else I'd be shelling out some $$$ to you already!
LOL -- I like all my guns to be naked!!! Feels better to use.
-
Don't sell it to her! It's never get cleaned!
Totally true. But it would get USED.
I should probably also make mention of

Bad influence. Bad, BAD influence! Besides, it's raining like hell. I would dump the bike. I was the kid who couldn't wheelie a bicycle without taking it too far. I'd always end up standing and either holding the bike straight up or with the bike on the ground in front of me, upside down.
