  1. Sorry for the delay. I have attached photos of the first gear and joe rocket jackets.

Aside from bug guts and the missing zipper pull, the first gear jacket is in great shape.  I have the liner in it as you can see from the photos.

The joe rocket jacket is good but could use a wash. I have the liner for it as well, but it's in my tank bag, which I didn't pull down yet.

Please let me know if you're interested!

  2. As a part of getting back into riding, I've purchased some new gear.  As a result, my older used but cared for items, which thankfully no longer fit, are just cluttering up my closet.

I have 3 jackets for sale:

    1.  Joe Rocket Meteor 4 in yellow, 3XL.  I have the insulated liner for it, and wish i could get a new version of this one.  Very adjustable and all zippers work, with no tears or abrasions.  It's yellow with black and white accents as seen in the photo (not my photo).  I can take as many photos as you'd like, but it's a great item.  It does have road grime on it, but is perfectly serviceable.  I rode in all kinds of weather in this one and it never let me down.  Waterproof and very comfortable.  I did cut down the top of the back protector some so that it didn't hit the back of my helmet, but all other armor remains unmolested.  $75 obo.

    2.  Joe Rocket Honda mesh jacket in blue, 3XL.  This has the liner inside it, which has never been used.  I rode with this jacket about 5 times, total.  Flows a lot of air, and again, no tears or abrasions.  See the photos. $75 obo.

    3.  FirstGear ballistic nylon jacket in black, 2XL.  This one has a missing zipper pull on the main zipper and still has the insulated liner.  All zippers work, and it does flow a good amount of air as well.  This is a more....  antique jacket, but would make a great alternative for someone looking for a knockaround jacket or a spare for a passenger.  I don't know if it is waterproof or not, but it is ballistic nylon, so it's probably waterproof-ish.  It has no tears or abrasions, photos are available.  All armor is intact and good to go.  It has rubber/plastic shoulders, complete with bug remains captured on a genuine 1100xx at high speeds.  $35 obo.

I'll ship these to you at your expense, or can meet you locally- I drive all over the northeast.

I also have an older pair of FirstGear gloves that I'd be willing to part with.  Full gauntlet and chromed plastic on the knuckles and fingers.  I think they're an XL, but will have to check to be sure.  If you're interested, please email me at brett.cabeca at gmail dot com or just PM me here.

    Thanks for looking!

    Brett

  3. 2003 CBR1100XX

    14,xxx miles

i hate to do it, but i can't ride like i used to.

    honestly, i'm afraid to.

she should go to a home where she can be ridden and loved.

i am the original owner, and picked up this new, old stock bike on april 30, 2004. i have the title in hand.

the bike is very clean, and has been babied, but it has been on it's right side 3 times. new parts were sourced for these incidents, except the infamous "slide through west virginia" which had the nose cone and front fender repainted. some scratches are evident on this bike, none of which can't be buffed out.

    DSC00937.jpg

lots of extras on the bike:

    HID high and low beams

brand new tires, front & rear with about 400 miles on them

    zero gravity sport touring windshield

    carbon fiber rear hugger

pazzo levers from the group buy back in 04 or 05

bmw grips (stefan gets first dibs on these- i would replace with regulars in that case)

    throttle meisters (heavy- polished)

    rear shock shim

    vfr bar risers

ram mount on left clutch mount for included gps-friendly box

polished bike sliders and plugs from john

battery is one year old, kept on tender

    new cover

    shortened rear turn signal stalks

    new tank zipper protector

extras to go with the bike:

    old, generally scratched windshield

right side spare fairing (i don't remember its condition)

3 switch box (showchrome, i think) which could be mounted on the clutch reservoir

    heated grips

gold link chain intended to replace original

    original chain guard

    original clutch & brake levers

    crash shrooms from jaws

    river road 3-part tank bag

there are other components which may or may not go with the bike. some were given to me, and i'd like to offer them to stefan before putting them up here.

i'm asking $4800 obo for this bike, which i feel is fair.

please email me at brett.cabeca@gmail.com, or call me at 607.873.3488 with any questions. i can supply other photos of the bike as well.

  4. i bought this givi wingrack back in 08 and used it for some of the 09 and 10 riding season. bottom line is that i don't ride in a manner which requires the rack on the bike. i've since upgraded to a monorack, and that more than meets my needs.

i will take photos of the rack if need be.

it is in serviceable shape, and fits well. i have *most* of the hardware for this, but would deduct for the cost of a new hardware set from givi.

i'm asking $200, which i feel is reasonable. i am open to offers.

    come and get it.

    thanks!

    <edited for price drop>

  7. droid-by-motorola-rubberized-case-black_

i realize that it's hard to see, but that's kinda the point. this is a rubberized case for the droid which has all the cutouts you'd need to keep the phone usable. the keyboard still slides, and the screen is still fully visible. this is the rubberized case you could get at a verizon store. very sturdy and still practically brand-new (i used it for a week). yours for shipping if you want it.

    plastic-motorola-droid-case-496.jpg

this case is for the blackberry storm (yes, i realize that the photo is of another droid. i'm tired). it worked very well for the 7 months i had the phone. i don't know if it'll work with the storm2 or not. again, this is the case that you would get at a verizon store. and once again, yours for shipping.

    pm me if interested.

  8. Up for sale is my silver-colored Seiko FrankenMonster with a blue face. I have a black FrankenMonster and a Seiko Atlas, which is more than enough automatic watches for the time being.

This is a large watch- 50mm across the crown and 40.5mm across the bezel- it's also 12.5mm thick. The weight is also substantial, but that's what I consider a good feature. This watch doesn't use batteries- the action of wearing the watch (and associated arm movements) keep the main spring wound.

Also, this is a dive watch, with 200m rating. I don't take my watches into the water typically, but people on the watchuseek forums have and report that it's quite easy to read. This is due to the material that Seiko uses on the hands and markers- Lumibrite. See the photo below to see how bright the lume is.

This watch has zero problems and is probably around 98 or 99%. I am the original owner and purchased the watch new from CreationWatches in October. I am including everything in the photos- the manual, quick instruction guide and box it arrived in. There are only a few minor scratches on the clasp, but those are quite minor. And there are no gouges.

This watch currently sells for $210 plus shipping at CreationWatches, and i'm offering it here for $175 plus shipping (firm). I don't believe that this watch was commercially available here in the states, if that helps.

Please hit me with any questions.

    Thanks!

    And now, the photos:

This last photo is not of this particular watch, but is the same model in a different color. Presented here only to show the intensity of the lume- you can damn near read with it.

  9. i just upgraded to a blackberry, so i no longer need my treo.

has charging cables, usb sync cables, battery, you name it.

since upgrading the phone to windows mobile 6, it's been much more stable.

if you're looking for a backup, its not a bad choice.

    photos available upon request.

    $50 plus shipping conus.

    this includes:

    holster

    treo 700wx

    car cable

    usb computer sync cable

    wall charger

+ anything else around here with a treo 700wx or verizon logo on it.

it does have a dented antenna where i dropped it while working on the bike, but is otherwise in what i would consider good shape.

it accepts an sd card or a mini sd card with an adapter. this isn't included.

to read a review of the device click here.

    thanks for looking!

ps- i still have two older sprint phones for sale. a treo 650 and a samsung SPH-A640. make an offer for either. they need to go too.

  10. i recently purchased these to convert them into shortys, but it didn't work out.

the signals are both fairly new looking, and have nice long leads and amber lenses.

the plugs which would attach these signals to your stock wiring harness aren't included.

$10 plus shipping. need to clear 'em out.

    brett

  11. hello.

    1. i've recently taken custody of some givi sidecases and one has a broken retaining clip. it will lock, but will not attach to a wingrack, as the inner mechanism was sheared in an accident. if you have a busticated case, i'd appreciate this part. removal of this part basically eliminates the usefulness of the bag it's attached to, so it'd have to be from a case that's been wiped out.

i've been to the givi website, but parts are conspicuously absent from all pages i tried. suggestions/ideas also entertained.

    2. i have some shorty rear turn signals, but the wires don't terminate in attachment clips- only exposed wiring is evident. i need the clips that will attach them to the wiring harness of my 2003 bird. yes, i could cut the wires, but that isn't going to happen. so if you happen to have even a totally wasted set of these, i'd appreciate it.

i will, of course, issue payment for these items, but honestly don't know what they're worth. please contact me and let me know how much you'd like for these items.

    thanks in advance.

  12. A friend / co-worker of mine recently lost her husband and has come to realize that she doesn't, in fact, need two vehicles.

Up for sale is a 2006 Chrysler 300 with just less than 39,000 miles on the odometer.

6000 miles into the tires, which are Michelin HydroEdge

The extended warranty is valid until Feb., 2012, which is transferable (or she will offer a rebate of $680 if the supporting paperwork for the warranty can't be produced).

The only visible option that I can detect are the rain guards installed over the windows.

This particular 300 has the 6 cylinder engine. I don't know if it's a hemi.

The car was well-maintained and has supporting documentation.

Asking price is $15,500, which is negotiable within reason.

If interested, please contact me here or, failing that, contact her directly. Her email address is: r.mcdowall@comcast.net
