The XXorcist Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 I finally got it done on my bike. I strongly recommend everyone on a bird to do it. Will take you 5 minutes to do. And will give you more horn sound than that little ass beep beep Roadrunner stock horn. Only tools you need is a 12mm socket and rachet, and 10mm wrench for the new horn bracket. Pop off the wires from the stocker, remove 12mm bolt. The horn comes off, that simple. Use the supplied bracket and 10mm nut on the Blaster horn, and put it back where old horn was. The stock female wire ends slide right onto the new horn and there you go.. Costs like $12 from Advance, and simple and quick to install. Dave Quote
XX Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 soundbite? i got a fiamm, but yours is louder yes? db? Quote
The XXorcist Posted October 19, 2003 Author Posted October 19, 2003 dont have anyway to get a sound byte of it, but its 132db horn Part number F 72112 Sounds just like a car or truck horn, but since its right in front of the bike and in the open should be nice and loud to other drivers. Dave Quote
blkbrdrydr Posted October 20, 2003 Posted October 20, 2003 You didn't need to install a relay for it? Quote
Warchild Posted October 20, 2003 Posted October 20, 2003 You didn't need to install a relay for it? I would. And, in fact, I did! http://www.fjrtech.com/getdbitem.cfm?item=24 Quote
The XXorcist Posted October 20, 2003 Author Posted October 20, 2003 didn't come with a relay.. just the horn, and hardware to mount it up.. them magnum horns look sweet... damn now will have to find them if they are that much better... Dave Quote
pace Posted October 24, 2003 Posted October 24, 2003 Where can I purchase one of these? You said 'Advance' - what vendor were you referring to? -Pace [Edit] Found this on AdvanceAutoParts.com "Fiamm 72112 FREEWAY BLASTER - LOW NOTE" Is this correct? Quote
Obby Posted October 24, 2003 Posted October 24, 2003 What... no pics... no links... We can't read you mind buddy. Help us out a little here . Quote
RodeRash Posted October 24, 2003 Posted October 24, 2003 The Fiamm "mini blaster" horns do not need relays. Here is a quote from ridesafer.com. Low current draw allows the horn kit to be installed in most stock horn circuits. A new horn circuit is NOT required in most cases You can find all their motorcycle horns here Quote
matey_peeps Posted October 24, 2003 Posted October 24, 2003 while they are loud, don't count on them being heard. laying on my FIAMM freeway blaster was the last thing i remember doing before i was forced to get off my KLR at 30+ mph on monday. but they are a simple install, and make you sound like a buick.
