XXMAN Posted June 12, 2007 Author Posted June 12, 2007 Need help with installation of oem bags if anyone has done this please chime in. I can not figure out how the left mounting bracket goes on the sub frame. the right side has a hole in the metal making it easy but the left side I have no clue. Quote
rcskisfast Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Not sure of what your asking. Hope this picture helps. Ron Quote

I'm guessing you're asking about the two-piece support bracket that bolts together and sandwiches the subframe? If so, the inner piece took some wiggling to allow it to slide in next to the subframe. But by saying there is no hole there, I'm wondering if you mean on the plate welded between the upper and lower subframe struts. PM me if you want. Quote

That is exactly what I am talking about I can't see how to get that brace on the left side. The right side has a hole in the metal plate that is between the top and bottom of the subframe. The left side has no hole and appears to also have a electrical box of some sort in the way. I just don't get how this is suppose to go on. Quote
gt_mule Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Without taking my rear cowl off and checking, is it possible to push anything aside to make the room you need? I think I remember needing to make a bit room. I also think I may have slid it in from the front. Try sliding it in and twisting it into position once it's behind the subframe. Quote

Did you have to move the electical box on the side I just don't see how this can bolt up. I have the brace that needs to go behind the subframe there but I can only see one bolt going in the side because the other bolt hole is cover by the plate on the side of the sub-frame. I am lost. XXMAN Posted June 14, 2007 Author Posted June 14, 2007 Maybe if someone took their seat off and snapped a pic from up top I could figure it out. I would not want to ask someone to take off bodywork. Quote

Don't stress out you Candy Ass. Bring it by either tonight (maybe tomorrow night) or early next week. Call me. If you need holes I've got Drills! Oh, and bring a few NEW bottles of Dot 4 brake fluid. We might as well take care of that too. Quote
gt_mule Posted June 15, 2007 Posted June 15, 2007 Here's some pics with the seat off. The extra wiring is my garage door opener. Hope this helps. Quote
