Hotrodcbr Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Hello, this is my first post and would like to thank all of you for a great website with tons of valuable info. I purchased my second Blackbird. Sold the first one a couple of years ago and bought a fixer upper last week. I am curious if the gauge cluster from canada would be compatible in installing on my US spec bike? I am building a streetfighter and budget is the main importance. Thanks Sam Quote
Mikey Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Assuming the years are similiar (models actually) you should be ok. The digital needs rewiring if it's going on an anologue model year. Other than that, there is no significant difference that I'm aware of between the CDN and the US. You'll just have to realize that you aren't going as fast as you think you are. ie 100KMH is only 60ish MPH. It makes us think we are faster :] Quote

I just don't know if your trip and odometer would switch to MPH I figure they would probably stay in KM/h Quote
Hotrodcbr Posted August 8, 2006 Author Posted August 8, 2006 thanks for the reply. Bike to an pretty bad fall, going to get forksfront wheel and gauges. THe gauge cluster is off a 98 and my bike is a 99 so hopefully it will work. Thanks for the help Sam Quote

If you really don't like the KPM on there you can get a gauge kit to illumate the back that is in MPH that should fix your problem. If I'm not mistaken 01 was the first year with digital speedo, you could put 01 or newer on but would require more work. Quote
