I have a 97, and not that I heard any noise coming from the CCT, I decided to chang it today to John's double green dot. The one that was in the bike was a single green dot. They look identical other than the dots. I have 15,500 miles on the bike and to my knowledge the CCT that was in it was stock.

Did I just change the 97 OEM CCT with the correct CCT? Or, did I just replace the original with the same model?

Thanks.

The double green dot is the latest version.

yep Double Green Dot came out in 2001 I believe.

I would keep your old one as a spare if it was quiet.

Thanks guys for the quick service and info. Other than the dot the unit looked identical to the one I had in the bike.

PM Mikey. There are two different CCts for the 97 depending on the ser #, and they're not interchangable. Ask him how he knows. If you put the wrong one in, you'll know soon enough, so hang on to the old one.

BTW, I've got 99,000 km (62,000 miles) on my 97 and not even a peep from the original CCT.

I would double (Dot) check that info. There are only 2 part numbers ever listed for the CCT (lifter Set)

from Honda. The old style listed for the 97-2001 and the newer double green dot listed for the 2001 - 2006.

They Are interchangable.

Maybe something to do with your canuck models but not the US spec Birds
