xfuctx Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 It's pretty simple. If i back down the driveway and stop (with front brake), then drive forward and stop, the front left caliper will click on the second stop. In other words load the caliper backing up and then load the caliper after going forward, the caliper clicks. the play is in the bottom bolt, the one that attaches the braket to the fork, and theres play in the (vertical black hydraulic slave piston?) above the caliper. I don't recall this click and or play in the caliper ever before? tell me i'm not carazy please Quote

airborneXX Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 Just went over and checked mine. It does the same thing. Perfectly normal. The left front caliper pivots up/ forward to engage the second master cylinder causing the rest of the braking system to engage. So when you back up it pivots down then when you go forward and brake it pivots back up and that is the click you hear. That bolt is the pivot point. If you have the factory manual it has a great write up explaining the LBS in detail. Work yourself up a good dump and study  Quote
