Something else I keep forgetting to say:  I don't know if these come with the insulation, but if they don't you should do something about that.

Also, they look pretty fuckin cool, other than the fuck up.  Most of my bikes have been stock.  I've had one that had absolutely nothing on it, the one Carlos has now, and initially I was sure it would need at least the stock decals, but then I fell in love with the completely clean look.  It was also fun to let people guess what it was, BMW was the most common guess, and a few Ducati.  I can't imagine any Duc that it looks like, maybe the Italian paint somehow came through.  I think only one person ever guessed it right off, he was on a Bird.

I've had two Duc 999s, one nearly stock which has minimal stuff (it did have a couple cool additions) and one 'race replica' that was pretty busy.  Both were cool in their own way.  My current Bird is pretty blingy but with nothing added to the panels and I keep thinking that doing it up like the Repsol might look pretty cool.  Pretty sure I could buy that set and come out ahead after selling my panels.  Either way, I think it needs the dual nitrous tanks.

So luckily they did come with a heat shield in them so I'm all good there and I love how the dual nitrous cans compliments the repsol fairings.

I think the only thing I want to put on the birb now after I repair the front end by finding an upper cowl stay bracket and headlight assembly is an underglow kit which is cheap and easy along with trunk for the rear but those are hard to find and really expensive :(

My buddy and I are planning a trip to West Virginia in September as our first long distance trip. I'll be on my bird and he'll be on a Tiger 800 XCX.

Along with that trip I'll be in Laconia for the entire bike week so I'll be bound to catch some eyes with the fairings and nitrous cans.

    Man that really sucks.

On the flip side, it’s not getting easier to find new OEM parts. I believed I had sourced all new cowlings tonight only for them to all become “backordered” after sitting in the cart for a couple minutes. It would have been $1500  for new plastics.

I still need to get ahold of a dash frame bracket and headlight assembly before I can even worry about getting the nose on. I'm just not sure where to look for oem ones so I might put out an ISO on hereJPEG_20200129_102001.thumb.jpg.a54bf45af673ee8fc97c2e17bde33ac5.jpg

Crashedbirb, how was the fitment as far as the mounting holes lining up and the thickness vs the stock panels?  I have always been curious about these aftermarket body kits.

Thickness and weight of them compared to oem feels identical but fitment can uhhh, it can be an absolute bitch. It took me nearly 3 hours to get just 4 of the panels on.

Don't let those people stick it to you.  They sent you garbage and they need to fix it. Don't fix it yourself. They either need to refund you at least partially or they need to send you a new correct piece and pay for return shipping of the piece you have.

I hope you paid with a credit card that has your back because they don't like to pay for garbage products and most of the time look out for their customer. I would deny the charge.

This was purchased on my debit card like 3 weeks ago 😕

Since I placed the fairings on, it immediately invalidates any sort of refund/return, I left them with a neutral review saying the item wasnt as describe and customer service was bad.

If you wanna remove that sticker and clear coat it later here is what you gotta do. Btw, removing stickers first and then trying tp get rid of the clear coat edge is, well, retarded.

Get some sort of sanding block, something like in the picture. Mix some warm water with soap and throw couple sheets of wet or dry 600 sand paper in it for 10-15 minues. Cut each sheet into 4 pieces.

Wrap sand paper around your sanding block, and start sanding along the edges of each sticker. Keep things wet. Stop when the edge of the sticker starts to disappear. You have to be very careful not to overdo. Remove the sticker. Hopefully it will come off nice and clean.

Thanks!! I appreciate the help, Itll be some time before I put the front nose on since I still need to fix it but I got the rest of the fairings on and it looks really good!

    No.

If he does this right he won't have to paint though.

Yeah...sale photo looks like decal was cut with a curve to fit (or a lot of care was used in application) and yours was cut straight and cut to fit.  If you’re good with sanding and painting, I suppose you could redo it as long as you find someone willing to recut that decal so it fits properly.  At least white is an easy color to match.

The rest of the fairings look great so far

It's not what they advertised though. They have a customer contact page...  eBay has buyer protection and you can leave them based feedback there. I don't know if writing a dissatisfied Google review would influence them, but it might help others.

You told Auctmarts before they mailed it to you...

I will leave a mediocre review soon, sadly it is a bit disappointing but I don't have the money to deal with returning them and they already said they aren't going do much. A neutral review was left on their ebay already from me. I just want others to know to be careful with them.

How much was just the noise cone piece, / could they just fix it or send a new one?

What method did you use to pay for the bodywork? You may have recourse.

Do you know anyone with a body shop?

I have no idea how much and they just didn't give an answer about the nose when I asked about a replacement. I payed on ebay with PayPal and I think I might just go the route of finding a body shop to fix it. It doesn't seem like a major job. I'm super happy with the rest of the fairings though

  9. So I've been working in my blackbird ever since I got in an accident in August, i finally got around to buying new fairings and i loved the look of the Repsol Black/White ones auctmarts did. I ordered them and the whole process took around 3 weeks, when they sent me the photo showing them completed before being sent out I noticed the Repsol on the nose was crooked but assured me that it wasnt. So I let it be and to wait for them to come in. They came in 2 days ago and I'm a little annoyed since everything else looks great. I'm in love with them except for the crooked repsol on the nose is bothering me horribly, I contacted them and they said it isnt a work of art and can't be perfect. I'll stick with them since I already paid and returning would cost nearly $200 I dont have. I wonder if i could sand the clear coat, remove the stickers, apply a new one and clear coat over it again.

    Fuckin' Jeeps.

Looks pretty straightforward.  Just check all the tabs on the lowers.  It's  and indication of how tight that package is that the lower fairing set stayed essentially intact while the upper cowl sheared off.

Yup, lower fairing set is honestly entirely okay, I'd like to get a new upper cowl so I can have OEM fairings ontop of that, I plan on getting repsol black/white fairings so I can have 2 sets to switch between. Just gotta wet sand, paint over, and seal.

Make sure to check all the wiring behind the headlight that might have gotten pinched during the crash.

Some tracks will let you run a fuel-injected bike without a kill switch, if your stock "tip-over" switch is functional.  Also, tell the track tech you only have a 30-shot, and maybe they'll let you slide on the diaper requirement.  Or find a track that isn't NHRA or IHRA approved.  They are more lax on things like that.  Definitely get leathers, though.  Motorcyclegear.com has some great deals.

I did check the wiring and wasnt affected at all! The one near me is NHRA so I'd look for another but I could just run it stock, I still need a lanyard kill switch though since it does a quarter mile faster than 11 seconds/can do over 120mph in that time, thats just the track rules

I got a chance to look at the pictures a bit closer on my desktop.  That's unusual damage.  What happened?

I'd be very surprised if there was fork damage.  Doesn't appear they would have taken any impact. That headlight is a stout piece and obviously absorbed a lot of energy and the stay probably absorbed the rest.  Just check the frame neck near the mounting lugs for the stay for cracked paint or indication of frame damage.

Basically to make it short, dude slammed brakes, I slammed mine, front disc locked, skidded towards him and hit him doing about 15-20mph

Stock (ish) bikes are usually exempted from most of the rules on a test and tune or street-only night.  All of the tracks I've gone to are basically full leathers, gloves over the wrist, boots over the ankles, and a DOT full-face helmet that you must keep the visor down on.  The only mod I had to have on my drag bird was a lanyard shut down switch.  I used one from a jetski and wired it in tandem with the run/off switch on the handlebars.  It attaches with a clip to the zipper on my left sleeve.

I know the one near me requires I have a kevlar wrap on my engine because it does have NOS injection, I could run it without NOS but still would need full leathers which I do not have.

I'm guessing (hoping, praying) that somebody took the pick-up tubes out of those bottles before filling them.  When inverted like that they need to have the tubes removed if you didn't know.  The stock engine can handle at least 2.5 times that amount of nitrous, but good luck keeping the nose down.

Yes they did! Theres no problems with them luckily, 30 shot is plenty though, its stupidly powerful without it and with it is just overkill
