2000 Suzuki VZ800 (aka Marauder). 29k miles.

The Good - starts and runs well. Shifts ok at the 15mph or less I rode it. Bodywork is reasonably good / straight. After market seat. Thats about it.

The bad - forks are HEAVILY blown - and have been for some time. Im not sure about the rear shock either. Brakes are HEAVILY contaminated. Im shocked the damn thing stopped when he rode it here- literal grease/oil on the rotor and pads. Chain'n sprockets needed replacement in 2006. Tires likely too. I "think" the frame is straight but the bolt on t-bar style handlebars sit tweaked in the triple. Knocked around during a fall I'm sure - cant guarantee bars are straight.

This is one if no one wants it will go for scrap. Whoever buys its will get a title and " for parts only" BOS - do with it what you will.

I'm genuinely scared to sell it locally because someone might actually try and ride it as is...

If you can do labor yourself and spend some time with it - you could make a decent riding reliable bike out of this. Some investment would be required.

$100 bike + $250 doc fee and tax for your location.

It doesn't look that bad.

it doesnt. But it DOES need safety work and fair amount of it. Its say more than I can justify spending on it with hopes of a return.

In its current condition its sketchy AF…

but the guy wrote it 30 miles from his house to the store.. twice before we made a deal.

You need to open a dealership near here so I can take these off your hands.

OO OMG

Fly-n-ride has been playing in my head.

I've done brakes.

Never done fork rebuild

A couple hours ago I ran shipping for giggles.

I could, probably, fix it in one Saturday. Except I'm way back on my projects as is, and, 1000+ miles away 😁

Probably 1000 bucks for parts, like 100 bucks for seals and bushings, brake pads, front rotor could probably be salvaged with elbow grease, chain+sprockets like 250, send rear shocks for rebuild. There is always more in parts vs. casual estimate,,,,,but 1000 would, probobly, do it.

Sounds like a great way to create an adventure.  Post often so we'll have a clue where it and/or you died along the way.

My guess is that Scott overstated the shittiness of the bike's condition, and I've piloted some very questionable vehicles of all types, but not without an assessment.  I might do a fly and ride for this, but with the expectation that there will possibly be a U-haul involved.

Without researching yet we are wondering how well the 800cc functions in a machine that big. Will it keep up with Harley's?

But Scott is just a few hours away and we need another project to add to the dozen we have now.

Sorry Scott, we are taking a pass on this one.

Fly and ride gets it.

Probably make a good engine for a 3 or 4 wheel project.

I met a guy at the drag races who built a 4-wheel "pit vehicle" with a Virago 1100 V-twin.  A metal bar stool was the seat.  Wheelbase was about 3 feet.  Picture one of those electric Igloo coolers that you can ride.  Yes, he did take it down the drag strip once.   ONCE.  Didn't crash, but he came back whiter than a Norwegian albino.

Just needs another 1000cc.

DO NOT plan to ride this bike.

Until a lot of work is done. I flat wont allow it.

Also - I'm not in Denver.

I will not sell it to someone planning to ride it home. Thats liability to me. It is NOT safe to ride anywhere.
